I'm 5 days into flowering and I think my bushiest plant of 3 has sprouted some balls. I'm pretty sure its a male, I just want some confirmation so I can go cry. Atleast I think my other 2 are female at this point.

Can you take a better close-up? 5 days into flowering usually don't tell you anything, and sometimes a what looks to be a male, turns out to be a female, i've seen it a few times in my crops.

i tried to get closer pics but it keeps focusing on whats behind it leaving the important stuff blurry.

how long should i wait though? I know its only been 5 days since I went 12/12, but I really just don't want seeds in my white widows. is there anything more specific i should look for? and about how long till the potential male can pollenate?

Wait a little longer. Honestly, it looks female to me. It takes at least two weeks for the pollen balls to develop then open, so you can watch (and wait) for another week or two. Peace.

ok I'll definitely give it some more time then. I'll try to keep this thread updated as things change too. thanks everyone for the input.

I see what he is talking about as pre-balls, or what may be, is it possible that those are just the early stages of a thick pistil? Or are the pistils normally a pretty standard size? Sorry if this is a noob question, but I'm slowly working my way through the GrowFAQ.

I am not sure. Give it a few days and then take some more photos to look at. If it is a male, most of the pollen balls will be at the top, like coconuts on a palm. So, I am NOT convinced it is a male, because you have something at almost every leaf junction. Pollen is not normally so orderly.

If we are taking bets; I say it has not shown a sex yet.

are males really that worthless, i understand the damage they can do to the ladies, but can you catch any sort of buzz from a male?
