Conservatism and cognitive ability are negatively correlated

The really funny thing is that you just don't realize that believing in the idea that liberals are more intelligent than conservatives means you must be a conservative.
"Loyalty to petrified opinion never yet broke a chain or freed a human soul."

Mark Twain said it perfectly, so I'll just quote.

I certainly believe that progressive is smarter than conservative.

Justice means minding one's own business and not meddling with other men's concerns.~Plato

i can quote people too. you propose that the progressive "lets juswt change everything, whether the dissenters like it or not" attitude is a virtue?
some things can be changed but only when the new option is superior to the old. thats why im a conservative.

conservatives resist the new, and say, "show me why i should change."

liberals insist on the new all the time and demand "prove to me why i should not!"

our constitution creates a framework that has resisted the tampering of the "progressives" for a long time (with varying degrees of success, we no longer control our money supply, but we still get to vote) while "progressives" get down into the basement and start knocking out timbers with no regard to the structure's soundness.

youre the kind of blind fool who might try to redesign a boat from the keel up, while it was out to sea. youre a dangerous lunatic and im glad you have no more power than a single pleb's vote.

you think youre smarter than you are, and have no concept of the things you want to destroy, nor any idea of what might replace them. youre a petulant child who breaks his toys and demands daddy buy you another.

yep, why bother amending the constitution, when you can simply violate it? obamacare is only as constitutional as the supreme court allows it to be. once the bloom is off the rose and the stink sets in obamacare will be blamed on the republicans who didnt stop it, not the dipshits who declared it to be awesome sight unseen.

i hold you in absolute disdain.

absolutely right. as unconstitutional as dredd scot, as unconstitutional as jim crow, and as unconstitutional as the controlled substances act. fundamental changes like obamacare should be settled with a constitutional amendment and a plebiscite, not "we have to pass this bill so we can see whats in it" (nancy pelosi) politics as usual.

but then later courts are only allowed to overturn existing decisions when it pleases your agenda right bucky? or is dredd scot still the law of the land?

ohh and lest we forget, “Ultimately, I’m confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically-elected Congress” ~Barack "The Constitutional Scholar" Obama

the supreme court is the final arbiter of constitutionality and it can only be overturned by itself. or popular opinion, or the press, or the Brahmin in Chief, or a "strong majority of a democratically elected congress" or whatever bucky thinks is right or wrong, or whoever can scream the loudest on msnbc...

awwww, poor guy. the poor, persecuted white male is the new dred scott because he will now receive subsidies for health insurance. you poor thing.

unless or until a later court overturns it, it's constitutional. sorry.

good job on not letting this go to waste and instead using it to feed your persecution complex.

i'll receive subsidies for nothing. obamacare is a shell game to create an entirely new class of dependency among the numbskulls who think they are getting anything for free.

all he has done with this monstrosity of an entitlement is enthrone a new federally mandated cartel which will, like all the previous federal cartels, usurp more power for itself, turn on it's creators and become a new secret arm of government, just like the Corporate Frankenstein, the federal reserve banking cartel, the welfare poverty pimps, and the military industrial complex. one more shadow government among so many? i doubt most people will notice until it starts to pinch their wallets.

Given the liberal leanings of most colleges, could it be that the more educated are exposed to more liberal indoctrination?
Your presumption is that people of all political stripe are equaly succeptable to "indoctrination". This is as old as time. Moms blame their children's friends for their children's behavior "who taught you that"? is the refrain.

the fact is that right wing authoritarians, made up primarily of conservatives are shown to be more prone to being indoctrinated, and in being so prone, they, through their penchant for projection and presumption that all people are either like them - or utterly foreign and untrustworthy, believe that liberals must be liberals because of some indoctrination process, a process that they themselves are totally capable of swallowing.

the left is far less likely to be "indoctrinated" no matter the source of that indoctrination while the right is quite a bit more likely to be "indoctrinated". We see many examples of this, the most current is their mass belief that the polls were wrong, that Romney was always on the verge of winning and that Fox's assessments are completely correct. They are capable of believing lies told by their leaders in a way that liberals are not because conservatives as a whole are authoritarian in nature.

Your premise is flawed.

It is the same sort of thing as Fox reporting that MSNBC and the media must be biased because they reported so few "good" things about Romney (in fact they seem to be blaming his loss on such things, when anyone with a modicum of common sense would surmise from the results that the populaton simply regected conservative propositions). The fact could well be that there was very little "good" eminating from the Romney campaign that could have been reported, but the right cannot accept that there is anything but an even parity between sides, that one side could not possibly actually be nearly bereft of exemplary qualities. Rather than accept that distinct possibility, they claim bias. It is much like the little boy who brings home a report card with all c's and D's except for the single B in shop. "but you aren't fair" he says to his parents "you didn't look at the B I got, you are biased against me when compared to my brother who got all A's.
