Considering buying a grow room...

I know. haha. I was getting tired of the spam on this thread because it comes up on my subscribed threads and then Im coming here thinking maybe somebody is going to rant and rave about their grow tent and then its just someone hi-jacking the thread.

I did find a good tent with extra hid lighting and inline fans for $500. so thats cool. havent bought it yet, but plan to soon. the cool thing about having the extra light setup is that i will now have 2 grow areas instead of just moving my light setup into the tent. additionally allowing me to either have a veg room and a flower room or have a mother room and a grow room. ect. but anyways, not quite sure what Ill end up doing quite yet as far as which rooms for what. but i'll probably buy the setup within the next couple months. I gotta go to oregon and take a class to allows me to grow up to 99 plants (but i wont ever grow that many.) then Im gunna start selling overage to our local dispensary. the dude loves my mother and i! hah.
damn girl your gonna be setting shit off in your town!
I suggest using the tent to flower in and veg under your old light just for the fact that if you later decide to add in some co2 to your flower room then it would be best there, and if you dont ever add co2 then the conditions for flowering will be better in the tent anyways(humidity temps etc....).
Thats prob a pretty good deal for a fully eqquipped tent id say, since I couldent even find one like that with a light and inline fans.
What size light (and brand) does it have and how many cfm's does that inline fan cover?
Good luck with that class chicka, I wish I could do something like that but here where I live they are just now trying to pass a bill for a study on medical marijuana to see the postive/negative benifits of it. spossed to be done by 2010 but thats a long ass time still:-|....@ least there is possibly a begginning to me becoming legal though, no matter how long it takes.

Oh by the way, i saw your pits in some thread yesterday...I didnt have the
time to tell you then in that thread, but they are BEAUTIFUL pups.

the fan is rated at 80 cfm. I dunno how good that is but it says it allows the tent to stay only 1-2 degrees above room temp with the light in there and everything. the light included is a MH/HPS conversion light with a 4 sided reflector.

is that fan just pulling air out of the tent or is that an air cooled light reflector? If it isnt an air cooled reflector then what are the dimensions approximately on the tent?
Sometimes you cant trust manufacturers claims, lots of times its all downright lies to sell their products.

If it comes with a switchable ballast and reflector as well as that squirrel cage fan then I say its probably worth the $500. (Although most people dont realize that all that is needed to make a ballast switchable between mh and hps is 2 light switches and some bypassing. But yet companies charge $150 more for em:confused:).

4 SIDED HORIZONTAL SUPER-REFLECTOR
Dimensions: 15.5" long x 12.5" wide x 6" deep
BLOWS AWAY THE COMPETITION!
This top of the line HORIZONTAL REFLECTOR is made from the HIGHEST QUALITY MATERIALS available! Specifically designed for growing plants, this reflector incorporates a steel socket/reflector bracket, 5kv Pulse Rated Mogul Based socket and highly reflective polished aluminum reflector. The highly polished aluminum reflector has a mirror-like finish rated at 95% reflectivity for MAXIMUM LIGHT OUTPUT. This super reflective surface provides more raw light output than dimpled reflectors and is far superior in reflective qualities than cheap white painted reflectors which discolor over time. Polished Aluminum will NOT RUST, CHIP or CORRODE like inferior chrome reflectors do under the intense heat of a high intensity discharge (H.I.D.) bulb like the High Pressure Sodium (HPS) bulb that comes with this system. This reflector is built to last a lifetime and can easily be cleaned with common household window cleaner. Horizontal lamp configuration design allows for the greatest light coverage over the top of your garden area while providing the highest light intensity levels possible. It is widely recognized that the BEST design for horticultural reflectors is the HORIZONTAL REFLECTOR design incorporated with this reflector. Comes with two heavy duty steel hangers to hang your reflector from and a 10’ cord from the reflector to the ballast housing.
Our 4 sided design allows for up to 50% more light delivered to your garden area over standard open ended "batwing" style reflectors.
Not only does our reflector have all 4 sides, it also incorporates a "V" bend above the lamp. This "V" bend does not allow light to bounce off your reflector and go directly back into the bulb as other sellers flat topped reflectors do. When light is directed back into the bulb’s arc-tube, it is lost! Light reflected back into the bulb also creates heat to build up inside the bulb shortening the life of the bulb significantly.
Versatile: It’s like two reflectors in one! You can choose to use the END PANELS or as an open-ended Fully Adjustable "Batwing" style reflector. Use the End Panels to create a 4 sided reflector to maximize light efficiency and get the highest output possible. Or use it as a Fully Adjustable Reflector to customize the light coverage you need for your garden! Simply bend the refector outwards for a wider light spread or bend inwards for a more intense, direct beam of light coverage. YOUR CHOICE!!
This is not a shoebox! The side panels and end panels are angled to provide the maximum light output to your gardens canopy without wasting a single lumen.

hmmm, so its coming from htg. They are a pretty good company to make purchases from online. deff one of the cheaper ones Ive found.
The light they are reffering to is the same one a buddy of mine bought. I used it for about a year and it works pretty good. You will probably have to assemble that reflector but its nothing but inserting tabs and bending them over with your hand, and insertign some screws and tightening them down with wingnuts(they tighten by hand no tools required:mrgreen:)

the only problem I see with that tent is that it is so damn small....
36"Long x 20"Wide x 64"
3 feet long and 1.6feet wide and 5.3 feet tall.....
That is about 4.5 square feet of space in the bottom,so no real room in there to expand if you ever choose to do so.

But that fan should vent that space pretty well, and the light will cover that area pretty good since it will be enclosed

so it all comes down to is that gonna be enough space for what you need for yourself and to have "overage"?

edit, I suppose should say is that gonna be enough for the people you are growing for?

well I'll have two grow spaces. the one space i have now can hold about 8-10 plants. its 2ft deep by less than 4ft wide. sooooo, I figure i could probably grow another 8-10 in that. considering they do give you enough setup for 10 plants thats probably what they calculated as well. also, If i continue using grow bags Ill probably get much more use out of the space. Its going in my garage so the highest I could go in measurements would be like 4ft by 4ft by 6ft tall. but the problem with that is that I then will not have a complete setup for approx 500 and I also will have to use the light in my grow closet, so i then eliminate 1 grow area that i could use!!

plus I dont really need to grow more than 20 plants at any given time as it is. I do have 1 plant outside in my backyard at the moment. but basically 20 plants round the clock should bring in plenty of overage as well as medical use!! :)

I have been looking for help on this issue too, it seems that no one using these threads has actually bought and used one. I can spend the money, but don't want to get ripped. Please post any revelant infromation that you come across.
