Container size question for soil growers

10 litre pot,all the room your plant will ever need,but this depends on available room and amount of plants you have.i only bud 2 at a time in a small room but the two pots do a grand job,always a nice thick stem.good growing!!!
 
Usually start in 16oz. cups,peat pots,or root cubes.From there work my way up to a 3-5 gallon bucket with plenty of holes for drainage.
IMHO it is BEST to keep upgrading pots as the plant grows.For some reason after a few days they just seem happier.
 
I ran 5 gallon buckets last go round with two plants each in scrog and it worked great.

I went with 3 gallons last time and had decent results, but when I pulled the plants out after harvest, those roots were jam packed.

I just transplanted 3 of my 4 plants from 3 gallon containers to 5 gallons so hopefully that will give me a better yield this time around. Transplanting turned into something of a fiasco - I fucked up the roots on a couple of the plants...so...hopefully they bounce back ok.

Veg for 3 months and then flower for another 3 months in 3 gallon containers and they don't get too rootbound?
 
What's the advantage of starting out in smaller containers and progressing in increments, as opposed to dropping seeds/seedlings in a 3-5 gallon bucket?
 
Well when you put them in a smaller container you can use a soil suitted for them with more perlite for drainage. Also you are more likely to keep the right amount of water in soil.
When you upsize you use fresh soil and less perlite.
 
4 Gal square buckets (I like the square ones, otherwise 5gal round)

Though thinking of going to a bed, just one big box for about 6 pants.
 
i was growing in two gal but am down grading to 1 gal. pots just have to water and feed more often but as long as you take care of it you can pull off pretty small pots there is a thread on here and the are some giants in tiny pots some grew in 20oz cups and had some very impressive plants in it. ill find the thread and post it.
