Container Sizes: Veg. - Flower

How's it goin' everyone? I am pre-veg stage at the moment with 5 ILGM Strawberrycough fem. seeds. They are showing their first set of real leaves this week. My medium this go will be HP Promix, mixing in worm castings and Gaia Green 4-4-4 and 2-8-4 as necessary. I have plastic nursery pots from my previous round that I intend on using for this one. I have 1.5, 3, and 5-gallon pots for the entire goround . I'm in little 4-inch nursery pots at the moment and will transplant to the 1.5 gal. soon enough. I have no set time I want to spend in the veg. stage but I will be in a 4x4 grow tent using the Viparspectra KS5000 so there is that. My plan is to transfer from the 3 to the 5 gal. for the last week or so of veg so the ladies have time to settle in before the flip.

lol I guess my question is ... Would 3 gal. transplanted into a 5 gal. be enough space/soil to get them through flower? I can always fill the 3gal. veg pot with 2.5 gal. of soil if that helps.... My goal is to reduce overall costs and not have to buy bigger pots or more soil than is needed.

Should be. I would give them an aactea and/or add ewc as a top dressing to keep the soil active about a week or two after the flip. Adding a slow release fertilizer like cow or chicken manure in the bottom of your final size bloom pots or giving liquid fish weekly would ensure they stay green all the way to harvest time. If you don’t use granular mycorrhizae at each transplant that’s something you should also look into.

IMO skip the 3gal if your intention is to finish in a 5gal. Transplant your 4" into the 1.5gal, veg for about 30 days then off to the 5gal for however long before flip.

Appreciate the tips, I will definitely try that this season! I am using Xtreme gardening azos and mykos during each transplant.
