CONTANER size Big or small

Ok I am helping a friend get his grow going. he wants to Veg for 2 months than bud them, He is useing 2 liter pop bottles and wants to keep them in them the whole grow.... I have the same strains but Mine are in 10 GALLON totes .


I agree that i dont need a whole 10 gallons of root mass, but I THINK he is going to need more than a pop bottle of root mass.... He grew alittle like 20 or more years ago, and he used 2 littler pop bottles back then and it worked.

I think more roots = happyer plant. happy plant = more buds? more buds = more Smoke.


We are not useing any bottle nutes on this grow, brewing GAUNO TEA's with worm castings and mollasas.



I grew 2 raspberry coughs side by side one with 3 gallon contaner and one with 12 gallon, and the raspberry cough in the 12 gallon is like 2 or 3 times bigger than the 3 gallon.

I say big pots, he says i am wasting my money.... he says little contaners . and I say He is wasting the potental of the plant....

I told him he should have at least 5 gallon contaners. but he thinks he will have as big of yeailds with his 1/2 gallon contaners.


I just want to see everyone around me grow the best meds that they can...

You are right, he is wrong. Small containers will also make your plants stretch more.

u want bigger pots=bigger plants,which gets u what you want, bigger yield.Im sorry but half gal containers just wont do if your looking for good yield.Not to mention rootbound occurance is more likely in a small pot.

I was thinking of it like a SNAKE, TURTLE, FISH . The bigger the tank/area =the bigger it gets. you keep them in a small area they will live and grow, but there aren't going to get full size.


If he was giving them hydro nutes i think it mite work, but doing Organics, I dont think it is enough. Some people would just let him do it and find out the hard way.

I look at it like "anything worth doing , is worth doing right"

P.S. I am half his age, so i think he just dont wanna belive a yonger person that hasn't been growing that long....

for the last 6 months, I devote 4 hours aday to the garden , and then 3 -5 hours of reseach on how to grow, and diffent ways/ I also reseach all kinds of PLANTs in genral.
