Controller for 6 Gavita DE 750

The controllers are worth the money for sure.

1. Your stuck at 750 watts no overdive or dimming without the controller.
2. You can wire directly to 240 no need for timers that could melt or get knocked out of place and have lights kicking on random times.
3. The lights will automatically dim when temps get too hot.
4. The lights will shut off before your crop bakes if fan or ac fails. (Worth the $250 right here)
5. Sunset feature is nice as rooms cools slowly and no big humidity spike.
6. One central timer to set and control all lights from same spot.

Can you tell I really like mine. It's really one of the best things about the gavita lights, well that and they throw down.

That all being said if you haven't already bought an environmental controller and plan to you could look at the trolmaster hydro x. It has an adapter for the gavitas and more adaptors for all your other enviromentals. It can get pricey buying all the seperate parts but everybody seems to love them. I hope to try one out soon.

If you absolutely have to cause of money issues I understand you can leave the dummy plugs in and roll with them plugged into a box like renfro was talking about, that prob would be cheaper to wire up if you don't have 240 circuits to the room already. You just lose some convenient functions of the lights.

One of these two if you have gavita brand lights, the other you linked are for growers choice brand lights and I'm not sure if they are interchangeable.

I'm not sure this is the best price you will find as I bought both mine from a store and the EL2 was def closer to 200 than 300 but I was buying like 4k in stuff that day and got a decent discount.

The difference between the 2 controllers I linked is that you have 2 channels on the EL2. Basically you can either control rows seperately or if you have 2 rooms running gavitas you can control them both from the same controller. I don't do that cause the cords are only like 15ft so I use two seperate controllers.

So what Nema plug or whatever do I need to buy. I already have a 50 amp two pole and 6/3 romex if I go with Gavita master what do I plug my lights into. Do I daisy link them

How many amps are the 750 pulling? I hard wire my lights 2 per 30 amp breaker but they are 1k so use more amps. My electric skills are very rudimentary so @Renfro prob has a better way than I would do it.

When I say I hard wired them I mean cut the end of the cord off and stripped the wire and used a 4 inch junction box and connected the wires inside of that. The guy that showed me how to do electric for lights could be a complete idiot but he said outlets are more likely to fail. And this same setup worked well at my last spot so just redid it on larger scale here.
