Convert my bubblers?

Hi @ll

Anyone care to offer some advice...? :blsmoke: I am fairly new to dwc and I am coming towards the middle flower of my 1st grow... I have 8 pots connected to a control pot then onto a large 120l res. They are all connected by T connectors on a simple loop (I purchased this as a pre-packed set which I put together in a cab.)

Anyways.... I now want to modify it to recycle water from the control pot in the interests of water temps so I can put a single cooler in and be a happy grower! Soooooo, I was thinking of simply putting a water pump in the control pot (I think 250l p/h) then somehow getting 8 lines out of the pot, each of which will drip into each grow pot, which should then equalise right? But if the pots are on a loop rather than each pot being connected directly to the control pot, will the equalisation process work ok or will I get potential issues with overflows because of pressure builds up...???

I hope this makes sense to someone who knows... :joint:  :peace: :blsmoke:

To shorten the question...

Can an 8 bucket DWC with loop based plumbing with T connectors with a single connection to the control bucket, be converted into a RDWC?

Anyone have an opinion please..?

Dude look at your system and figure it out I'm sure with a little work she be recurculating. Maybe have the nutes fill from the top and drain at the bottom. Idk sorry.

Dude I have looked at my system and that is my plan but sometimes there seems to be bottlenecks and I think it is because it is on a loop, I was hoping some guru would understand..

Why do people say not to use those T connectors etc... Is that part of the prob etc, if you don't know then chillamans, no probs.

If your water lines are in a loop, you will need to remember that each outlet will have less pressure than the one before it. You will probably need some sort of flow control for each individual outlet to equalize your flow.

How bout... put the fill line at the bottom of the bucket and put the drain at the top (or where you want the water to stop) then get enough pressure and wide tubing and you might be able to make that work with one pump. or maybe another one after like 6 bukets or something. i dunno. pic would help.

Thanks peeps, well I have to say that I have been defeated by DWC.. I have taken most of my flowering plants out and put them in soil and I just have 4 bubblers left. I did everything right but a couple of things which turned out to be distasterous, in the end they all got root rot, which I spent weeks solving and finally got them back to a decent state but I stopped using h202 and used only hygrozyme, well that was a mistake I should have carried on in small doses. ANyway, then I put some carboload in and somehow the ec got to 2.6 for 2 days but I failed to act on it quickly enough, the plants look so sorry for themselves. I have lost most of the crop and the 4 that are still bubbling are shocked. My roots are about 8 inches long and sad looking, bear in mind that with everything that happened they were vegging for 8 weeks in dwc then 4 wks into flower.

At least I know exactly what to do next time but my next grow is all soil and I am going to hug my plants daily.

That's all I have to say.

Sorry for your loss but it's due to your hand.

New guys tend to "play" with it too much.

The carboload is organic and you could have just added cane sugar and got the same death.

Organic compounds are not acceptable in DWC systems.

Pull yourself up by your boot straps and start over.

You need to add just three things GH maxibloom (Lucas formula), ph down, and 1 teaspoon of h2o2 per gallon of solution per day.

Sit back take a zany and let the plants grow.

PS: Vegiging for 8 weeks will grow 10 foot tall trees.

He's right I vegged my white russians for 9 weeks and they are standing 6 feet tall at week 4 of flower.

Tbh I am mostly over it now I am glad to say! What has saved my ass was the fact that I had a backup soil grow going just incase it all went tits up, which it did. My backup grow is two white russians, a WW x Swazi RedBeard and a Jack Flash#5 so at least I have my 'personal' sorted out and they have been transferred into the big cab with the 600 and the 400 hps :) So I have to look on the bright side right... Pun intended!

Yeh they vegged for 8 weeks but that's because I got root rot after somehow the drain tap was left on slightly over night and the roots effectively spent the night in air, this really was the beginning of everything that happened afterwards, if you catch my drift. They went into flower and they were about 20 inches, after 8 weeks bubbling and 3 weeks aero.....

OMFG, 'amateur' springs to mind right!!!? fs. :D

What I might do is put 4 bubblers in the small cab and do a small one.

Peace.

At least I have this wonderfull jack#5 to fall back on, it is only in an 11l soil and this is 6.5 wks flower. The heads are so heavy that it needs 4 xl bamboo stilts plus a bit of tie to stop it just collapsing, all this is supported on a stalk about 3/4 inch thick, it's a great plant to grow.
