I heard Kevin Jodrey got contracted by Cookies to sift through cultivars for them. I respected him for awhile but the more research I've been doing about chemovars and profiling chemical compositions in cannabis leads me to believe he thinks he knows more than he really does.
One example is he claims he can break down all cultivars into four categories based on their terpene profile: fuel, earth / fruity, floral. But this doesn't make much sense. For one, the fuel/skunk scent is not actually from a terpene but from a volatile sulfur compound (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8638000). So, there isn't actually a chemovar where the primary terpene is responsible for the fuel/skunk scent. Any cultivar could have this gene which is responsible for synthesizing VSC independent of the overall terpene profile.
Another thing is he has been saying for the past couple years that he had to shut his operation down due to the cannabis market being flooded and he can't get a return and how all the farms around him are going under. Yet, he's making bank selling out to Cookies to sift cultivars for them. I don't mind the man making money, but don't pretend like you're in hard times as you're signing lucrative contracts with Cookies. He's really just a businessman in the end.

Think Cookies family wants to regain any credit they might of had in there infancy. Consumers are growing tired of their Cookie related products, loud stoner packaging and pretentious cultivar names all wrapped up in a Hip Hop, Bee Boy street wannabe thug blanket. Cannabis has evolved, morphlogy of this new cultivar is more adult in nature. Serious cannabis consumers not only caring about the plant but how its treated and represented. Probably why they wanted Bodhi and his genetics. Warming there hands and salivating at the prospect of breathing new life into a outdated business model. Maybe Cookie family realizes that Berners funky fresh 47th album... again 47th album "Seed to Sale"...really dude "Seed to Sale"? He might be the only person who thinks that album name is cool. Anyway, cornball cheesy gimmicks will not provide them with longevity, the cannabis community won't allow it and will vote with there wallets and not purchase there products. It has started already...Good luck Bodhi and watch those cheeks.

It doesn't matter if it's a shit product, their market share is already so huge, there will always have new idiots who want cookies. I see all kind of people with cookies swag, I wonder if some of them even know that it's weed related. Cookies is more of a brand than a breeder at this point. Think Kim Kardashian of weed.

Alot of these companies and llc like cookies and even jungle boys will get swallowed up by much bigger biz in the next 10 years. I bet you'll see alot of these dude that have killed over the past 5 years probably start cashing out and selling portions of their companies if not the whole thing in next few years. It would probably be the smart thing to do..the legal mj market seems to be very volatile to get into and whether you vertically integrated or not etc.
Getting into the white market has overhead costs and also takes huge risky investment, usually from private investors...I know friends who lost a couple hundred k like that investing in legal grow ops and dispensaries and the last 3 years. It's for sure a fickle market to try and break into especially now.
on another note..one thing I'll give berner is that dude was a good cali hustler in the game. He was pretty much a shopper middleman for big buyers and he had a good pulse on the market and understood the power of the hype. Dude was making a killing taxing packs back in the day...can't believe 2011 was back in the day now..fuck
