Cool Shade Reflector Heat Problems

Hi,

I was wondering if someone could offer me some advice and point me in the right direction as I'm having a little heat issue with my tent set up. I have a 1m x 1m x 2m grow tent which is running 400w hps under a coolshade reflector. My exhaust fan is a 150mm TD Silent fan which is rated at 580m3/hr. My intake fan is a RVK 100mm and is rated at 175m3/hr. The way my set up goes is as follows;

Carbon Filter ~ Coolshade ~ Exhaust Fan

When my Coolshade reflector is approx 2ft away from the plants the temperature sits around 26 degrees (set by fan controller) but both fans are at full stretch and have not got much more in the tank which should not be the case considering the exhaust fan is rated at 580m3/hr and should in reality be able to handle 400w with ease. The exhaust fan air is directed straight outside and not back into the room. Also the ambient temperature of the room the tent is in seems pretty cool. Both fans are run by an SMS twin fan controller. I have a few bends in the ducting which I realise may restrict the exhaust air flow.

If someone could offer some advice this would be very much appreciated.

can you find a link to the fans you own.. Im not familiar .. my guess is that your fans are much less powerful then you think.. Lots of the silent/booster fans have 2 ratings.. they will normally post flow numbers for a boosted situation.. such as supplementing a existing exhaust or intake system... But their static flow is much less and they dont have much pushing or pulling power when there is resistence from hoods and filters .

From the calculator I found that fan is somewhere in the 200 cfm range.. which is in my opinion not enough if your running through a carbon scrubber and a hood with a long run out the window.. First remove any bends that you can in the ducting but I believe the scrubber and hood are too resistent for that weak of a fan .
