if u mean to seal it use rtv gasket maker

I have the tube it's just 1/2 inch smaller than the connector I'm using, can I use fiberglass tape?

no use that metal tape it will work
i used it when i did hvac for living so i know it will work for u

what did u make tube out of

I don't see why regular metal tape wouldn't work.I was referring to high temp metal tape for exhaust on a vehicle as i would think ya gotta worry about the heat messin with the adhesive.

Any tape made for heat ducting would work just fine, the temps of the tube shouldn't get much above 200F.
