hey guys, the title pretty much says it all but ill say it again :joint:

i just bought a new tent and light and im trying to figure out how to keep it nice and cool without having to go crazy on ventilation. right now temps are running about 88 inside the cab and 66-70 in my home, i am venting the aircooled hood with the air in the home right now but was wondering if it would be a wise idea to run some ducting right outside and cool with that 10-35F (average temps for this time of year but can get colder) air, i dont want to crack my bulbs or the glass in the hood bringing such cool air in. mostly worried about the bulb.

another option is to not cool the hood and just run the cold air from outside right to the top of the cab and let the light warm it up in there, this will cause a high humidity tho as the fast change in air temps.

thanks :)

remember 400watt HPS bulbs are MEANT to provide outdoor lighting...Now with that being said its also not good to have quick fluctuations in temperature on glass, but the glass used to make lamps is tempered for a reason to resist the temperature fluctuation...The only thing that might happen is a reduction in life of the bulb due to quicker cooling when it turns off, but I believe the benefits of keeping it cooler while its on to begin with far outweigh any reduction quicker cooling would cause...And it will also help keep your tent cooler as well so your plants won't be heat stressed at all :)

thanks :)

should i pull it right through the hood? i think this is going to cause condensation on the glass of the hood and block light?

or should i just vent intop the cab and let the light cool it off?

i realize pulling it right through the hood is going to be the most productive method
