COPS JUST SEARCHED MY HOUSE, FOUND MY GROW THEN LEFT.

I left my car in front of my apartment and forgot to park it in my spot. Someone must have called the cops or something because a few hours later I had a cop banging on my front door. I didn't answer the door right away but eventually I had to get out to move my car so when I opened the door the cop immediately asked me "TELL ME WHY YOU HAVE A MARAJUANA GROW IN YOUR HOUSE?". I told him "Because I can, everything is legally covered." He then asked to see my paperwork. I walked back into my house and he followed me. I asked him to wait outside but he refused to step out. I didn't want to escalate the situation so I just walked over to my grow room and grabbed my paperwork. I proceeded to show him my home and grow spaces along with my dry tent and readily available cannabis (UNDER 8 POUNDS). So after checking everything the cop simply took a picture of my paperwork and electricity bill then he left. He didn't take anything and didn't arrest me or anything. I'm scared that this is the beginning of my troubles. Does anyone have any experience with this or know what I should do next? Should I move my cannabis? Should I move? Ughh this is stressful.

btw I'm in California in (edited out)

First mistake was opening the door.. just let the car get a ticket or even towed, its better than what went down..

If you are legit and in compliance with the laws, I don't think you have much to worry about.. But just to be safe look up some marijuana lawyers, be prepared.

I would be more worried about management than cops.. pretty sure not many apartments are OK with a grow.

Just to be safe I would tear it all down and get your gear out of there.. Unless you have the money/time to fight something like this if it does go that way.

Then move, start over and don't let ANYONE know what you do and keep odors/noise under control.

How did the cops find out? Did a neighbor tell him?

I must have left my door unlocked, I didn't want to open the door or let him in but it looked as if he had already opened the door and saw part of my drying tent. So he asked about it right away.

I'm moving my dried bud out to another location and just going to keep my clones and mothers here for now. (UNDER 70 PLANTS).

Under 70 plants? I'm confused The "Law" states (SB 420 guidelines – six mature or 12 immature plants and 8 ounces of processed marijuana except where local guidelines specify more)

unless you don’t mind being arrested and dragged into court for a felony trial, where you will have to show that the amount of marijuana you had was consistent with your medical needs, the best rule of thumb is to follow the guidelines

Straight from canorml

I have no useful knowledge, but that sounds messed up.
Yeah he banged on the door so hard there is a small dent from where he kicked it. The door had been slightly opened. Im guessing he opened the door or kicked it so hard it opened itself.

I'm wondering.. Do you think they will return with a search warrant? Will they call the feds and have me arrested? Will they come back and confiscate all of my stuff as evidence? Will they tell property management that I have a grow in my apartment? - and then tell my landlord? (my family owns this property and doesn't know I grow)

Let me ask you this.. Will you sleep good at night knowing any of that MIGHT happen?? I mean all of that COULD happen..

Me personally I would have already torn everything down and had it out of the place. If they do come back they wont have anything to find.. Call me paranoid but prison ain't fun.

If it were me, I'd get everything out of the house. And then I would make plans to move.

70 is a lot of plants. I don't know how you'd explain that to a judge if it ever got that far.

EDIT: jinx owe me a bowl. ;)

I am moving the dried bud out, cutting the drying bud down into bags to be moved asap. I will bring the plant number down to about 50 (I am hunting for the best strain.I grew that many to do it all within the amount of time and money that I had.) I will contact a layer ASAP. I was planning on moving after this grow anyway. But it is stressful to be rushed to finish the harvest and move everything out as fast as humanly possible.

Head for the hills. No one messes with us growers up in the mountains. I was in Crestline for a few years.

If nothing else get the shit out of there, if there not watching, and that may be a concern. Not familiar with CA laws but it sounds like your not following them re numbers :o.
