The argument of "probable cause" from the smell. It's you against the cop on this one - courts in the US? = YOU lose!
As long as you have your area and everything to do with it IN COMPLIANCE....You're GOLDEN!If nothing else get the shit out of there, if there not watching, and that may be a concern. Not familiar with CA laws but it sounds like your not following them re numbers.
I would be more alarmed about the landlord and what they think......Renters and growing sheee-it! Not the greatest idea...

I'm just trying to deal with the stress and make plans at the same time. It's not easy for me, as I put a lot of effort into my current (now old) plans.

Probable cause? Not sure if he had one, but sounds like smell was could be one. And the fact he let the guy i n period with no warrant, he obviously didn't refuse him entry. They r good at that kinda b.s.

That's a loosing battle I'm afraid my friend! - Probable cause from the odor. That's ALL the cop has to say in front of a judge! This has been ruled on all the way to the Supreme Court - probable cause is a police trump card!

Anything within visible sight even from the outside is probable enough cause to search. Odor is no longer enough for probable cause

The other is, or better put, could rely on it being a rental property. If in a home with police at the door. They enter uninvited - The OWNER of the property MUST request them to leave and they must comply without a warrant or ANY following charge made from the home incursion is (other then a person arrested for an outstanding court bench warrant) null and void or moot as a violation of civil rights under the constitution!
The car being in violation is a possible no-no in the rental agreement. This can give the officer defacto landlord "permission" on a state dependent wording of the law. I'm not "sure" of this one and here is where contact with a lawyer is a GREAT idea to ACTUALLY LEARN the laws dealing with rental properties and police entry! I suggest you also get the grow laws you THINK you understand. Outlined BY a lawyer that deals with these laws and is up to date on the legal "enforcement" of them for your local area!
I would not actually be sweating as long as you HAVE YOUR #'s and other rules of compliance in order NOW!

Up here that was changed, cops can't use odor to search anymore. They need visual evidence to proceed.

There definitely was NO smell coming from my home. I have 2 large carbon filter running at all times. One inside the sealed grow/dry room and one right outside the room just cycling the air. Everything was set up pretty legit. I'm just glad up to this point I am safe and free. I hope I don't have to lose the strains I've hunted for, and my current harvest doesn't get destroyed by trying to store it in a less than ideal place (My parents shed in their backyard.).

I wish I could stay longer and take my time with harvesting and moving shit out but I've been lucky enough. Time to suit up and roll. Cheers to all you hard workers out there. Sometimes you don't get the sleep or food you want. Sometimes you've got to make the best of a shitty situation. Sometimes you just gotta say "fuck it" and get to work.

3 . move and find a subletter for the end of the time there if you can ...
