Is it worth joining Costco's?

They got some good deals on gas, it was .20 cents cheaper then at the local station...

I've been a costco member for years. I love it. It's about $50/year for a membership. It's great for your basic household supplies, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, soda, stuff like that.

Just try to go at non-peak hours. Go on a saturday afternoon and you'll be fighting with soccer moms over everything. They can be surprisingly rude.

The gas is good too.

Yes, go for it... Stock up on staples and your favorite things. Their cakes and pastries are good, too.

I mainly buy stationary/art materials, lamps for the studio, office supplies... Oreos...

yes, do it. i live alone and i still have a bulk store card, and i don't even get a gas discount. the membership fee is worth it to me. lowest prices on electronics, tires, grills, paper goods, all sorts of shit. if you have a lot of cookouts you'll be glad you can get the tubs of ketchup and 12 packs of steaks and all the other whatnots.

i have a sam's club card and the only thing i hate is they don't carry cetaphil bar soap, just the liquid. i'm over it, though. i just got my mom a real sweet surveillance system after comparison shopping for about 6 months. love that place.

how is the bar soap? it it more "soapy" than the liquid? i find it hard to get a good lather with the liquid cleanser. it's like you have to use extra pumps to feel like you're actually cleaning yourself.

Also get some meat there...their steaks are excellent and thick

i like the bar a lot better. it lathers better. the smell takes some getting used to, though. it smells like a combo of ivory soap and that stuff that surgeons scrub up with before they cut someone open. i think the bar makes me feel cleaner than the liquid stuff and it lasts a bit longer. cheaper, too.

so it smells different than the liquid? surgeons scrub... that's that pink shit right?

i'll have to try it out, it's the only soap i can use that won't dry out my skin.

i mean that stuff that's prepackaged on the sponge with the plastic scrub brush on the back. it does smell different than the liquid but it's not a lingering smell. i don't like the jizzy texture of the liquid stuff. i keep the liquid on the sink to wash my face but i like the bar better for the shower. it's really magic stuff. it's the only stuff i can use in the winter that won't dry me out and actually washes. there is a smell though and it takes getting used to imo.

I vote yes for Costco-- really high quality meat, fish and produce-- although there are so many great deals I don't think I really save money--I just spend more. . .

The membership fee is well offset by the savings

They have a great deal on most everything for sure. Only problem is everything is so damn big. You need a big basement to store the stuff, and a vaccuum sealer to repackage the meat and other items so you don't have to use it at once. If you do that, its awsome.

its worth it for the free samples, dude. go in with fake noses.

I doubt you'll regret it. if you have a sweet spot for damn good muffins, they have the bomb muffins, big, tasty, moist & a nice flavor variety....their chocolate-chocolate chip & their apple strudel one's are beyond yummy...lots of great items....just be sure you aren't paying more overall for a multi-pack than you would individually at your grocery store, if possible to recall that -I can't, but when I take my Dad to costco for their supplies & he points out that sorta stuff for me I try to make a mental note not to buy that item. BTW the re-up price for membership 2 weeks ago at our costco was $60, up $5 from last year & another $5 from the year ahead, but worth it! also try your best to keep a tally on what you buy there first trip, it can be a doozy number the cashier asks for at the end of ring up! my last trip was $289 & my cart was not all that full...lol

the return policy alone is worth it.....plus the meat!
