could i put a 400w hps in this ?? i currently use a 250 cfl but im thinking of getting a dimmable ballast so i can adjust the light . do u think that it would be ok in this tent thing i sorta made??

Get a cool tube one with a ballast that runs both HPS and MH. You will need an inline fan to run thru the tube. Also just looking..get rid of the light leaks in the tent. Duct tape

You could but remove the big jacket ,no roof just have sides, ballast away from the room and a large fan not that little one it doesnt move enough air around. Try to keep it cleaner , vacuum ,tidy up etc.

id get a cool tube ,, and its not exactly warm where i live..... the tent is about 120 cms high approx 75cms wide and 30cms deep..., id av a 4"fan as intake and a 5"cooltube with a 5"fan cooling the tube...

The one thing I do agree on is clean it up a little. You can go with either way I prefer HPS but that's me

Mr I Can Do That For Half
You could go to homedepot get a 150 watt hps outside light and an orange extention cord for about $50 bulb included. Cit the cord so you have at least 5 feet from the female end wire the cut end to a reflector then cut the femal end off wire that to the fixture. Now take the other part of the cord with the male plug on it and wire that to the hardwire end of the ballast you would normally hardwire to electrical box. You now have a remote ballast. The 150 watt hps light is perfect for the small grow. Little heat just keep a fan blowing all times and it cost $50. I did this for mother plants and such since its cheap and takes about 15 minutes.

that is just an accident waiting to happen. i'd make a trip to your local hydro store and spend £300 on a proper set up.

also don't waste money on dimmable ballasts, get a 600w and keep the cfl for the veg stage.

The procedure I gave is far from a fire hazard as it exactly what a store bought ballast is except its in a metal light housing instead of a rectangle box. If you do buya ballast i do reccoment a 600 watt dimmable. The digital dimmable are now much cheaper then the old magnetic non dimmable. You can get a new lumatek 600 watt digital dimmable with cords delivered for about $100 on ebay full factory warranty

i got a propa set up for my flowering tent is a 1.2 1.2 by 2m mylar tent with cool hood fans ects blah blah.. but this was just a quick thing set up 4 veging ..... but i just find the cfl take ages to make things grow compared to a dual spec hps ...il prob just buy a tent thats 60.x60 by 140 cms mylar lined thing,, would that be ok 4 a 400w?

me 2 couldnt keep affording 2 pay for shitty deals for silly prices. and then the same weed over n over again.. not saying i dnt like cheese but after a while it gets a bit zzzzzzzzz ... so ghb wats ur set up like got ne pix?

See the CPU fan? I have a air conditioner that splits between my grow area and this, so it's stays about 75 degrees.
But as long as you have air in the room were you are growing you should be fine.
