My girl seems healthy, she has had a rough beginning, but she seems to be okay now. I’m not sure what these splotchy looking spots I’m seeing are. Anyone have a clue?
They’re useless. I can promise the pH is off. Buy a pH pen. Or use litmus paper. People argue the accuracy of the paper but unless you’re running hydro I’ll promise it’s good enough for our purposes. I’ve seen techs from Bayer Crop Services use it. For checking ferts for massive fields.
Hey please bare a little bit of typing, but I wanted to give some back story so you guys could think of some insight on my grow. So this is my first grow and I have some questions. I bought a 2x2x5 tent and a spider farmer sf1000 LED light. I plan on growing auto flowers as soon as my seeds arrive, but in the meantime I popped this seed I found in a nug of some fire Dolato just to play with my tents environment and get ready for the real deal. I first germinated the seed in some paper towels until I had about an inch of root poking out, then I planted in a small Dixie cup of some heavy bagged organic top soil of peatmoss and compost. I placed it in my windowsill because my light hadn’t arrived yet. During this time, the seed sprouted but it started stretching a lot. So after it was about 6 inches i cut the top of a liter size Gatorade bottle and filled it with more top soil and i transplanted the sprout so the stretched stem was buried. The light then arrived so I placed it in my tent but after some days, I noticed the soil was jsut way too heavy and the plant wasn’t growing at the rate I know it probably should be if it was comfortable. So I transplanted again, but this time into some foxfarm OG. I’ve been watering with 6-6.5 ph’d distilled bottle water. BUT when I stick my ph reader soil probe into the soil, it looks like the ph is reading above alkaline like 7-8. The plant started growing much better than it was and finally seems to be in a comfortable veg stage. But, I’ve noticed some unfavorable traits. On the first set of 3 leaf leaves, the longest tip seemed a bit burnt. Then another set of 3 leaf leaves grew which seem healthy green. Then the first set of true 5 leaf leaves are came in, but I noticed they seem a little splochy. Like some lighter colored areas. Also one of the leaves appears to only have 4 leafs rather than 5 like the other. Same with the newer ones coming in, looks like 6 leafs on one leave and 7 leafs on the other. Lol idk. Could you guys give me any tips, pointers, feedback, criticism? Another big thing I noticed was i believe I have some soil mites. I saw some tiny tiny white bugs only in the soil, nothing on the plants. I’m going to give it a soil drench using organocide bee Safe 3in1, being its all organic and safe to use. All feedback much appreciated. When my seeds arrive I plan on popping either one auto in a 5 gallon pot at a time or 2 autos in 3 gallon pots. I’ll be puting this Dolato outside in my greenhouse.

its weird I thought foxfarm Og soil came in 6-6.5 ph range, and I’ve been watering her using the ph up n down with the 3 drop color ph test and I’ve been watering at a level that wouldn’t be over 6.-6.5 ph .. last time I even watered with lower ph and my new set of leaves coming in where I jsut topped her don’t seem to have the bleachy spots
If your using distilled bottled water youll want to add calmag asap. Which we can see early sign of. Ph is important, if pen isnt working get aquarium ph test kit, works great, especislly when pen acts up. Its a great backup too!
