So i was high the oder day and thought of something like this...

Also i have never had a grow on my own so i do not know much of this stuff. 1st grow goin on atm btw:dunce:

I dont think the plant will root from the top like that. it is worth a try. i also know the root system goes hand in hand with plant growth...you would essentially achieve the same results in a single pot. a root system is a network- it doesnt matter if they are together or apart, results should be similar.

Dont no if this would work or not but there is a proper procedure for doing this, it involves using two plants instead of one.

You have two plants next to eachother, cut the tops of them so one is this shape ===< and the other is this shape<=====

You than put the two together and tie them so they fit snug into eachother, this is graffting. The result is two root systems for one plant, all the side branches will now all grow upwards each being a cola.

And yes the results are higher growth rate, bigger yield!

Hope this helped a little, ive never done it but plan on trying on my next grow, peace out

if not the top cut the end of a stem and stick it in the dirt ! :) Maybe a good grow for a Outdoor plant youd harvest more than once. MAKE A MARIJUANA TREE !

well If you have to worry about plant counts then it could be helpful its like turning 1 plant into many without actually cutting the clones off

but I would suggest that you just bend the stem over till it touches the dirt scape up the outer edge of the stem apply cloning product and then just pile some dirt over it.

its been done before btw

If you try this, make sure the head isn't stuck under the ground. Bend the main head down, and have it stick out the soil so a couple nodes are underneath soil, and a couple more nodes are above the soil looking like a plant. I know air-root cloning is SOMEWHAT similar. You put some soil or peat moss around a part of a branch, wrap it up, and in a little bit you have roots, then you can cut off your clone. But if instead of wrapping the branch, you stick it in a bucket of soil, then it could grow roots. At the rate of time it takes you might as well veg longer in a bigger pot. But hey experimenting is fun.

To the poster,

This idea will work and I have actually seen a similar technique done outside. You take the plant bend it, get a razor and cut all the stems off the side your going to berry and do a very thin slice with the razor down this side after this to expose the inside of root. Take cloning gel and rub it along this line you shaved off. Take it and bury it in soil, the plant will no begin to sprout roots from this main stem and you will have several colas growing out of the side!

If you're growing inside & the objective is many colas from a single plant then just SCROG or see UB's topping technique. No need to do all this unless you're just playing around.
