Crazy unkown bug! good or bad?

I will try and get better pics later tonight but anyone got an idea on what these are?
Another site said they though it was aphids but I cant find anything that resembles em. they have been around since I started with this soil so wouldn't they be mature if they were aphids or young fungus gnats?

I been searchin my arse off here to name these critters but near as I can tell....They aint spider mites cause I can see each one with my naked eye with no problem. Even my crappy camera can get some what of a close up (I know the pic's suck!) those are 1 gal pots and if you notice the edge of that pot is like 1/4 wide just to give an idea of the size of the bug. The plants are 2-3 weeks old (from seed) and show no signs of damage. These things came with the FFOF and are all over the soil. I returned the soil and they took it back...well threw it out back but said it was not SM cause they were to big. the owner said they only come out of soil when you water and he had seen em once before. I contacted FF and they said its hard to say if they are good or bad without a better pic.
you guys are my last hope.
They move pretty quick but don't jump or fly. they are just like tiny spiders. they seem almost clear and don't seem to hang on the plants, just on the soil and the rim of the pot. If they are bad, I am screwed cause I stored the bag of soil in the grow and did not notice until a few days ago I had company. Before I try repotting and sanitizing the room can I please get some

looks like they could possibly be thrip larve, not good. especially bad for root systems. If your soil is contaminated thats really tough. Dont have much experience with thrip myself, can anyone help this guy out a little further?

I hope you killed that fucker during your photo shoot. I don't know what it is, but after finding spider mites on my girls two days ago, any insect other than ladybugs get an automatic death sentence from me. Little fuckers better be glad I don't own a drone.

get some azomax! brah! foliar watering and the flush your soil with it. dilute the azomax in a gallon or more of water and flush that plant it will kill off any younglings.

they look like baby spiders. how long have they been there? could have just had a spider lay eggs on your pot and they are hatching.

Keyman, u said yourself "just like tiny spiders ".It probably is,its hard to tell there's over 35,000 species in N.A. over 3,000 in the U.S.A alone:)(pic is blurry).Thank ma nature its not mf spidermites.Check out this site [URL="http://www.bugsforbugs.com.au/product/41) (not their homepage, last page I was)they have lots of pics and info,i think they sell beneficiary predator insects. If u want to kill'em(I would)use diatomaceous earth u can get it almost anywhere(lowes),sprinkle that shit on everything its organic,u can eat it!young fungus gnats would have wings, don't think its thrips larvae as they look more like actual larvae. It looks like blurry baby spiders:).Ive been growing for about 8y(vegetables) 2y (chronic) thought i could help.Let us know wtf they are.good luck bro

Well, they dont look happy!
I added the D.E and it seems as tho the mites have moved out of the pots and outside of em! I see them all aver the outside of the pots and I didnt even water today. Hate to kill em but I prefer not to have em living in my pots. guess I will find out in the next few days if the D.E has any affect on beneficial mites.

DE is ground glass at the insect scale. it kills good and bad bugs. cn

sprinkle the de about 1/4 inch thick on top of the soil and bottom feed with the water and newts that makes whatever bugs are in the soil come up and into the de and bang their dead well chop suey actually.

Well, not sure how long the D.E. should take (72hrs?)but i am now changing my mind! these are spider mites. I was able to get a pretty good view of em and it looks like there are a couple kinds. one has the 2 spots and the other was kinda hairy looking. I took a pic but it is still blurry. I just dont get why I dont see em on the plant and only on the pot and dirt. Since I put down the D.E they are all OVER the outside of the pots.
So, if the D.E dont kill em by thurs I am gonna have to do something!

Ok now it looks like my once healthy girls are wet dogs!!
I put down the D.E. and it displaced a bunch of the mites to the outside of the pot but now my soil feels dry and the pots are light but when I water the water flows right through and the plants look water logged!
I just sprayed the plants with captain jacks w/spinosad and hope that kills em. should I see if I can get by for another 5 days and retreat w/spinosad before repotting or you think its best to try and get rid of as much of the soil as possible? I have already thrown alot at em with first the mites then D.E. now spinosad and possibly overwatering. transplanting might just put em over the edge:cuss:

I'm at a loss!

Body to leg proportion looks out of whack for a spider. Spiders = good! Little green shit = could be bad.
I'm intrigued... please elaborate on this... Spiders = good?
I just splatted a big healthy spider in my grow room... should I reconsider my killer instinct?

Spiders=very good. They are predatory insects, they only eat other bugs, rarely plants. Certain spiders in particular feast on mites and gnats.

I hope these picks are a little better. I am now seeing damage to the leaf's so these may very well be SP there appears to be 2 types of mites. One has 2 spots that you still cant make out in these photo's and the other is even smaller so my camera cant even pick it up (they have little hairs on em). I have put down D.E and Capt jacks "Dead bug" w/ spinosad. as you can see by the photo's the F@ckers seem to be having a party!View attachment 2334967View attachment 2334968View attachment 2334969View attachment 2334970
Plants are still alive but I am starting to think it may be best to toss em and start over!

Mites of some type. Spray with Sevin if you aren't chopping in 30 days.
Well went to get the sevin but chickened out and got the "Safer" spray.
Safer Insecticidal Insect Killer
Safer Insecticide Spray (active ingredient: Potassium Salts of Fatty Acids.)

I put that stuff on the pots and the soil and it killed em on contact but as soon as it dried (5min) they were coming back out of the soil so I hit em again POOF! DEAD!
Now I will see if this stuff kills my plants too :(
4 full weeks of veg so there is plenty of time if I have to result to Sevin
I'll keep ya posted!
Thanks for the tip
