so here are a list of known animals in my area that could fuck over my plants

gophers
deer
squirrels
coyotes

Ive only come up with a possible solution to defend my plants against gophers. I figured id fill up a 5 gal pot and then completely burry the pot underground. But since that may lead to drainage problems and restrict the rootball i think i could cut off the very bottom of the pot before i burry it.

but as you can see ive only come up with a solution for 1 the 4 known critters in my area. any comments on my gopher deterrent and solutions for my other critter problems would be highly appreciated.

Would urine be useful repellent??

burry your pots like you said is a good idea. drill the bottom for drainge and then dig your hole about 6 inches deeper than the pot is tall and add 6 inches of gravel into the hole. this will set your pot up and allow the water to drain thrugh the rocks into the ground below. the urine idea might work. for the bigger anilmles but i wouldnt be to worried about them actually trying to naw on your pretty ladies.
