Why keep pollen to unknown genetics?
Strong plant. Took a lot of abuse and never stopped. No reason not to breed it.

Reasons to breed:
1) lots of healthy vigorous growth from the start.
2) very hardy, I made a lot of mistakes, but this plant took it all in stride.
3) the bag it came out of was pretty fire.
4) it's a damn fine looking plant.

Plan is to cross it with a sibling I have right now, if that plant is female, if not I'll hold the pollen and cross it with other gear I'm growing in the future when I know what phenos I like.

Yup. But, like I said, only plant in the tent, only plant ready. I'm going to re-veg and see. Only thing I'm wasting is a week of power. My seedlings aren't anywhere close to ready for flower.
Theres a family in India that could use a week of power. Just sayin' lol

If you don't care, why comment? Obviously you care a little.

I found this today. Not sure if it's genetics or because I had some stress as I got busy the first few days she was flowering. Light leak and heat/humidity.

So I figure what are my options? There are a few:

1)Kill it. It's a hermie, no sense wasting time and resourses.

2) pick off the pollen sacks, and move ahead.

3) do nothing move ahead

4) re veg and see if it flowers normally.

So, I'm leaning toward option four for a couple reasons. First, I did have some issues that I've since corrected, and the stress might have caused the male expression. Second, this the only plant i have flowering, and the only plant that will be close to flowering for the next month or so, so all I'm wasting is some time re-vegging and testing the waters.

I'd like to know if anyone else has tried re-vegging a hermie, and if so have you had any success. At this point in not expecting much, if just like to see what happens, maybe learn something in the process.

good plants are where you find them, a name means fuck all in regards to choosing a keeper. Chem dog was just good weed before it was named, it used to all be bagseed. if i found the male to be worth carrying on id dust with it in a heartbeat and note it as unknown male, or "john dope"
I call this one UGI (pronounced ooo-gi) for unknown genetics Indica.

Is there a reason you're spamming the thread? If you have advice or opinion, please share; you grow good buds. If not, please stop the useless family guy clips.

You're implying it's my fault the plant has male genetics?
You are the one with 20+ years of growing experience you should know what happened don't look at me.

First MJ grow, 20+ years of growing everything else you can imagine. Pre-harvest flush is junk science, believe whatever ypu want.
Who am i to tell a 20+ year vet how to do things, i just noticed your plant got lots of dicks, figured i'd drop ya some funny's since you got it all handled.

You did miss the part where I am new to cannabis. I never hide that. Thanks for the funnies tho, guess I was being to serious up in here, I'm sorry.

As for it being unexpectedly male, a few well respected members here all agreed that the pre-flowers looked female, despite a lack of pistils, so yeah, caught me off guard when it sprouted sacks instead of buds, especially since the tops looked bud like (and not just to me) early on. I guess that's the price I'm paying for using unknown genetics.
