Try keeping the gauge in the bag longer , A few hours in a normal grocery bag 1/2 full is not long enouth for a accurate reading

Put it in the jar after you hang dry it, let it sit for like 24 hours in the jar with the lid on an then check the buds if they feel as wet as they did when you first chopped, put it in a bag, for like 24 more hours than back in the jar for like 12-24 hours, I did this on my last harvest an the bud was sweet as shit, although I can't ever seem to keep the sticky-ness of the bud, cause at harvest they are very sticky, but after about 2-3 days hang drying they lose the sticky, an just feel moist

Nqy, just put them in a jar in darkness and pop em every 12 hrs.Darkness is key here ontop of curing right. Sound like you over dried them.

From what I've read the longer you let can let them dry / cure the better, but once you dry them out too much you can't go back...if your jars are already down to 56 rh then a long cure is probably out of the question at this point...what I did was work them down really slowly to about 65% rh, then added boveda 62% packs to jars and burped them every 18 hours or so (turning all the buds n gently shaking the jar to separate any buds sticking together). Still got a ways to go but the smell and taste is definitely coming out a little more each day. Gonna stop burping so frequently in a few days n let the bovedas do their thing

Too dry, too fast, below 55% is too dry to cure and you're right on the edge of that.

60-65% is the curing sweet spot, 55-60 is when they're ready to store. Takes 24hr jarred before your hygrometer gives an accurate reading, rh will change as the buds sweat.

I think you should jar your buds and get a humidity reading after they sit in a jar for a day, your rh could actually be higher than 56, just a few hours in a bag isn't going to give you an accurate idea of the humidity. You say the smell is there, the potency is there, I'd jar them up, put your hygrometer in and check it in 24hrs, I bet you get a higher reading than 56. If you do, keep curing, the taste should improve.
