Curing: filling the jar up to the lid?

You seem to be turning nothing into a problem. Curing doesn't happen because there's extra space in the jar, it happens because there isn't any oxygen. You can do whatever you want. People just don't fill it up because they don't want to smash bud or they want to leave some space for the evaporated moisture to sit.. if you don't need to burp anymore you can stuff it. if you do need to burp that means there's still to much moisture in the buds, and packing a jar to the top can create mold hella fast.

To add to this...while burping I like to try and kinda rotate the buds a little within the jar. Kinda hard to do with a stuffed jar. But your mold statement is on point for sure.

For sure bro, I do the same thing when I'm burping, kinda . I dump all the bud out on a table then put it back in the jar. If you don't leave any space in the jar you also won't be able to hear the buds clank against the glass. If it smells good and it's clanking against the glass I leave them closed for a few weeks before I check on them.
