I order mine from amizon.com. They come in like a week. There like 12 dollars a dozen for the kerr brand. I'm sure they ship to the u.k.

They don't have them in wallmart in Florida or target. Thats why I had to order them. They have them on wallmart.com and they will send them to the store. You cant get qt sized ones for that price either. The ball brand are 16.95 for 12 qt jars/ If you go with kerr brand they are cheaper. I will post the wallmart prices if you don't believe me. I posted below to prove the price. I grow shrooms and they are one of my main tools.

Go to amizon.com like I said and search kerr or jardin brand and they are the cheapest you will find.

They're only called "Mason Jars" because that was the name of the most popular company that made them here, in the U.S. They are probably called something else, in other places, around the world. I know that they are also called "Canning Jars". I still see them at the Super Market, but I live in a "semi-rural" area. They're just heavy-duty, wide mouthed, jars with a special two-pieced lid with a rubber seal. Any good glass jar should work just as well - I use Vlasic pickle jars myself!

They are the jars your Grandmother (or Great-Grandmother) used to use to preserve fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies, etc. The process was called "canning", even though it used jars (go and figure!).

Just an FYI,

Almost ALL walmarts carry them but they are part of their "seasonal" inventory so they are only available 3-6 months of the year (generally the late summer/fall) until the specific location sells out or 6 months rolls around and they ship them back to the distribution center... Probably not available at most wal marts at the moment, probably by July/August in the US.
