You gonna have pounds bro??? Let me know if you need some help trimming that shit! I say use the biggest mason jars you can. I have plenty if you need. Im no expert but I believe the goal is to limit the oxygen around the buds so they can reach into the stem for flavor or smell? So if Im correct, you should be able to use even the smaller jars as long as its air tight. At walmart they have big air tight plastic containers. IN a cylinder shape. I thinks used for fruit or something. But that could hold 3-4 ounces if necessary.

its more or less a hypathetical question. I'm just wondering if you did have a large amount like that whats the largest size mason jar one should use and how full should one fill it with out having problems.

It can be as big as any one you can find, as long as it seals air tight. I use the regular large mouth 20oz. mason jars, but a buddy of mine has some huge ones that look to be about 2 liters or larger in size. Ball or Kerr brands.

I have heard that plastic containers are no the best to use, only glass jars. Any opinions?

i've used plastic and I would have to say that glass cures way better. I believe the glass locks in the smell and taste while the plastic is some what porris and takes away from it.

Lets say I use one - two liter mason jars. How much should I put in one jar. What percentage of the jar should be filled? Lets say bud to air ratio?

Plastic for just a few weeks is fine, but I would never store long term in plastic just due to the fact that it is gonna impart a plastic taste in the product eventually. I always use mason jars from walmart. If you or a family member likes pickles, get a few gallon jars of pickles and eat up, then clean the hell out of the jars then use them. I've seen large 2-5gallon candy canistors at walmart that are glass, just not sure what type of seal they have for the long term storage option.

I personally use wide mouth quart jars and put 1-1.5 oz bud in each jar without it being packed. I trim my tops into manageable quarter to nugget size pieces.

Fill the jar. Dont press or push down to the point where you are compacting any buds in jars. You want a little bit of oxygen but barley any. If the buds are to squished together mold will develop. just fill the jars will trees until its full then seal.
