Curling Leaves

Hi everyone,

I have a Northern Lights special, about two weeks old.
Growing in potting compost
Using x5 23W CFLs (for now) at 18/6

The leaves turned a light yellow/white colour.
The outer two have been like that for about a week, ie. they haven't got any worse, just expanded as it grew.
Not sure you can see it in the pics, but the tip of one other leaf is doing the same.

I think it might be heat stress?

I would really appreciate any help you could give :peace:

Looks like you sowed them in a potting soil that's made for repotting established plants. What you want is a seed starting mix. Basically you burned them with hot soil. If it was your lights, you'd see top growth being burnt, not the bottom leaves. Also you could just put your hand under the lights for a minute and if you don't go "ouch fuck that's a little hot" then your lights are cool.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Is there anything I could do? Transplant? Wait it out & only use water?

My friend has got me BioBix Light-Mix soil, should be getting it in the next few days. Transplant it to that?

This was a random seed I bought with an order, so I'm using it as "training wheels" so to speak. I'm buying an HPS & a full pack of seeds soon.

U might wanna look into an electronic ballast that u can use both HPS and MH bulbs in, I have a 400w HID that I can use both HPS and MH bulbs in. And since its ur trial run I'd say u could just leave it in the soil its in now or give it a couple weeks and u could transplant it if you want the practice for when the time comes to do it with ur real grow.

You can carefully remove seedlings that small and repot it in new soil, be very careful, ive done it though.I washed the dirt off the roots with some ph'd water.

I tried repotting it.
Thought it was going well, got it into proper soil. The she began to droop..

Did realize till I was getting rid of the old compost, that I actually cut some roots off. :wall:
