started soil in styrofoam 8oz cups i think. they got to be around 4 inches tall and slowed. pretty sure they got root bound. transferred to 3 gallon and they took off. one in soil i transferred from drip system to soil to see effects. it did slow down for a while so transfer from hydro to soil= slowed growth for about a week... they all look good but there growth is slooowww compared to the hydro started literally 8 days prior. the pics i post now wont show the soils but i will tomorrow and if ur not familiar u wont believe the diff. hydro is killing the soil, sorry i didnt mention its ffof. its feals like good soil and smells good. still the hydro is a sprinter.

the hydro started in an aerogarden lol for the first 3 weeks. they grew about 6 inches tall and i had a tote ready i made suited for 7- 3inch rockwools suspended for roots. pics of this too. kept it there for about another week for testing and transferred to 5 gallon bucket for the end all. i had roots that were just about to tangle so i transferred to buckets to lower some roots into water. fillder with hyroton and have 1 airstone per bucket. i got aqua fin 8000 and 4000. oh yeah t's suck but METAL GANG VALVES. wont go into now but please trust me, much better... im in 7 days of flower and im rollin cool now. been changin stuff and testin ventilation what have u. this where i will leave off for now. enjoy, post tomorrow and happy growin...

i know quite a lot but i wanted to show what ive been doin. i hope its interestin for advanced/newb(im a newb) for soil vs hydro and is"schwag/brick weed" any good not grown by someone u really doesnt care and its merely a job on top of mishandling from transport. im showin a little extra cuz sometimes the advanced cant appreciate really breakin down some of this stuff to a true newb. flipside some ?s r asked and its a matter of not gettin info on ur own. i guess a big tip on anything especially this is own what u do. enough of that lol so now i explain.

first tote i used when they got like 6 inched tall and roots started really goin from aerogarden(i plan to build a better one and may have already lol) pic 3 is a prop tray. in advanced growers defense, if u cant identify this u make it hard on them to help...u should know it already to a point... pic 4 is the wall to both rooms. they r 5x5x6 each. its al ittle weird pic cuz im scared to get light in flower room(im workin on makin it more convenient down here). the dark side drywall is white room and the white is the yellow room. if anyone actually asks i can take a better one sunday when im off and plants will be awake. pic 5 are airstones ive tested. the gray one r nice and that blue bar in the r 2 12 inchers which r nice. the blue circle no. the gray blockish one is nice too. im using three in my buckets now that i think saturday night(yellow room) pic 6 and 7 r totes im gonna use for next seedlings. i think this is my new aerogarden better. pics 8-11 are walls of white room. the zipper/door is pretty good. im pushing air cuz my fan is exhausting 2 rooms. also testin life a fliter pushin air vs pull. i will have enough to get more gear if needed so i took opportunity to fuck around. truly though its helpin teach me some... pics 12-14 cover majority of ventilation of veg room. theres a t that let me exhaust from both rooms(pic 12) 13 is just the ductin being as close to hottest area and far enough from intake/cool air. ive got airfilters for insects and dust on intake squares i cut in drywall. and i closem with panda film, some ive done lol. pic 15 like in op im testin germ and clone mainly cuz from what i found these are the begining and times its easier to kill the plant. the big one is a clone the dyin one is a clone the 3 in the middle r from seeds i started from the paper towel technique. one seedlin fell over prob from the fan and im tryin to prop it up with another dying lol. the most interestin one to the thread is prob pic 16. the pics in op are actually more like 5-6 days older than ones in pic 16. i was talkin with my girl and we really confirmed 2-3 days but im addin some for our error...srry. i just added the other 2 for "critical thinkin" examples. these t5s are pretty cool. they max at like 40000 lumen at around 432 watts. i can cut it in half with a switch and really get down. with the fan aircoolin the light r 3 inches off. im using a box for a riser for the prop tray to offset maturity and light acceptance. i think that all for now. i can answer ?s cuz im gonna prob smoke again lol and nerd out on here. bullshit u not this site is cool as hell. once again happy growin im here dammit!!!

early start today. just found out about journals so if i should suggest so. thnx for rep tryin to give back some and encourage on the fence and help fellow newbs. got more pics. my nute line is AN. im using sensi grow a-b. gavem 1/4 stength to 2/3 and one full. when topping i let'em go down as far as to 1 1/2 gallons but generally aorund the 2 gallon mark. this dwc bubbler gets roots goin and is veggin nice. fuckers keep growin under bloom reg(started at 14-16 and they are 28 inches now approx 8-10 days into flower). i gave 1/3 strength clean water(not topped off). ive been toppin at 2 gallon water ph'd water only. by the way ph stays between 5.6 and 5.8ish. i left 6.5 once and a crazy 4.5 somethin once for about 1 day(6.5) and overnight (4.5). it slowed them some and is why they tell us(newbs) start in soil. if ur not well educated here and lack time or diligence double those times and i probably wouldnt be typin this and showin pics(plants wouldve died). im switchin to sensi bloom a-b big bud and bud candy. the hydroshop guy stopped me from buyin some extras cuz i dontt know if extras will help or if they are worth it. i have no comparison so i went and im still here yay!!! today im gonna test two cpu fans verse on cpu fan and exhaust. i would like to use exhaust fan for that only minus cooling the hood. here goes the rest of pics for now.

the only explaination i guess needed for pic 2,4,6,7, and 12. pic two is the exhaust linked to the t connected to the actual fan. pic 4 shows the cpu fan. for now this is the stup. im gonna try 2 pcu fans and i do hope its good. if not im prepared to switch the lights and flip flop the rooms for better exhaust through hood and pull frsh air still. pic 6 is an intake hole for yellow room and i pit a fan i had there. pic 7 i endorse gang valves over t splitters whole heartedly. u can adjust air flow so no "they're not all working" pic 12 im gonna put up some drywall and drop a dark sheet so i come down here at noght and turn on light without disrupting sleep in flower room. this all i can think of and like i said ive learned a lot here and will be useful in return. i do have some ?s. will be exhaust lower humidity in flower room. is it better not to use airstones and just fix tubes in water for bigger bubbles. ill be hangin around a bit til i go to work. good growin folks

i rigged up another cpu fan and it feels pretty strong. im gonna try to cool an xxxl magnum airhood with 2 cpu fans. i believe its viable...got any takers? :)

so i put the other cpu fan up and i think i'll be putting exhaust fan to it. these fans are strong enough i think. i was able to dial down my exhaust i figure 15%. i'll see as the day goes. since the last pic of height plants have grown 4 inches (32 now)...

pic 1 is a little hard to see but its the 2 cpu fans im testing. pics 2and 3 are what i did after i disconnected the ducting from the hood. pic 4 is the reading approx 2 hrs after the switch. the high temp is when i in stalled the fan and did some rearranging in the room.( wall fan intakes) pic 5 was an accident lol. pic 6 is the lineup im considering. how does it look for my first order...

Filters are for sucking not blowing. It looked like youhad your canister filter on the exhaust not the intake, but I could be wrong.

ive done some research on that matter cuz i wasnt sure if u can blow vs having air be sucked in. from what ive seen i see people do both mainly drawing. i know its easier to pull vs push, however with air not sure it matters. for safety my fan controller should conserve fan/filter life right? i think i know a lot, but its still my first grow. im still learning tons.

after some thought was wondering if the nute line is curving the "hydro/soil curve"...lol. after 2 mnths from seed the comparison is undeniable. the diff is about 20 inches in height and buds forming on the hydro grow. i had heat and rh issues so im gonna switch these rooms around so my hood is closer to the exhaust fan. so i was reading on how to cool a hood. a lot of ppl say u cant cool a hood with cpu fans. i remembered putting one in my cpu and thought this fan is strong for a cpu. 80 cfm is actually pretty tough. i prob wont try but theoretically i should be able to bring air into my room with these... anyhoo, since i rigged up the cpu fans rh and temp have improved. i can keep my hand like 2 inches from the glass comfortably. i can touch the glass but it is still pretty warm. so im satisfied on what hydro offers over soil. now i guess i gotta finish to see if potency will be a big difference. i will update for interested eyes... and as always happy growin!!!
