I'm in the same boat. If they are effecting airflow and have trouble supporting themself, get rid of them.
I'm at day 35 now and had to remove most of the shoots coming from the first or second nodes on the lowest branches as they were stretched out and in shadow.
As long as the plant isn't in flower, removing lower shoots is fine. I just asked this question yesterday and got a few quick replies supporting the removal of lower/stretched growth. Yours looks to be around the same maturity as mine, and it responded well.

Cheers for the reply. Are your autos? Mine are day 44 and I believe its starting to flower, the airflow is all good... I think
this is my first grow and surprisingly not had any real issues. I have been defoliating and lollipopping (i seen mixed reviews about doing this but thought I would try) dont seem to stun their growth at all, maybe its the genetics 
all bud sites are getting light but I wondered if the smaller ones are not worth it... your plants look good BTW

Yep, fat monkey auto. Has been topped thrice, and defoliated to help with airflow, as leaves were sweating. Luckily you got more veg time. Mine popped pistils at day 32, and has stretched in the last 3 days. My time for trimming has come to an end.Cheers for the reply. Are your autos? Most stable autos don't mind trimming in veg, but can spit a few seeds from self-pollination during flower if messed with too much. Good genetics definately help. I had a bunch of home bred autos from a mate, and they would grow well if left alone, but we're very sensitive to trimming. They would sense threat easily, and go into flower as soon as any trimming occured, and would Herm in flower if too heavy handed.
Stable genetics from reputable breeders normally tolerate training well.

Nice!! I've got two growing now and one is behind the other I feel (right has stretched loads and pisits are everywhere, left hasn't stretched yet) the only difference between both is i topped the right one and defoliated and lollipoped it, I have just trimmed up the left one and expect that to take off now! I may just leave them now, maybe a little defoliating if airflow is compromised

I've just started a second fat monkey, it's at day 9 right now and Its basically a lab rat. Going to top it tomorrow at day 10, put the genetics to the test and see how tolerant it is to stress, compounding it's pain by purposely growing it under a $20 eBay light out of curiosity. If it works, I have nothing but respect for synergy automatic. Strangely it seems to be going very well.
I have a bunch of Skywalker Kush autos from them as well, a 140x70 tent and a Mars TSL 2000 I'm keen to set up after these check out

Looking good mate, I grow tobacco under a cheap £20 led from ebay, it grew good but not good enough towards the end. I am now using viperspectra p600 which seems to be much better. I hope to be able to get spider farmer 2000 soon!

Good looking plant. I wouldn't get too aggressive at this stage. In future, strip early to redirect energy and nutrients..
The way I train my autos is to remove under 4 early in the grow, leaving me four nodes and apical stem to train around
the pot, with little to no popcorn. It's all grower preference.

Looking good mate, I grow tobacco under a cheap £20 led from ebay, it grew good but not good enough towards the end. I am now using viperspectra p600 which seems to be much better. I hope to be able to get spider farmer 2000 soon!

The SF2000 is a beast! I definitely recommend it. I got the viperspectra 600 first but it pales in comparison. I'm currently 4 weeks into flower under the spider farmer and the plant literally doubled in size during stretch and the buds are fattening sooo fast.
