ladygizmo, sorry to hear about apollo, it's always hard to lose a pet.

on a brighter note, those are some good looking pups!
Ya it is hard to lose one. But there is bad news. My male ( one on the left in the pic) has Parvo. We have him home now because we couldn't afford to have him stay at the vet. It would have been over $900 to keep him there. We are trying to nurse him back to health but with parvo there is no cure except the dogs immune system. So it is up to him whether or not he wants to live. All we can do is keep putting fluids into him to keep him from getting dehydrated and pray that he will live threw it. He made it threw the first night at home so i guess that is a good start.

i hope he pulls through. dogs are resilient and i've always been surprised by how they can pull through from some of the worst situations. keep us updated. :peace:

Please please listen to me. My mom's friend knows so much about dogs
and she helped us save our little dog Mocha when she was just a pup from
parvo.

You need to buy something called "Tagamet HB" (or HD, something of the
nature) and start giving him that. I have no idea how it works, but it does.

Buy the clear unflavored pedialyte and give it to him every hour. he won't eat, but you MUST make him drink. Puppies don't die from the actual virus, but rather from the severe deyhdration that the virus causes.

Be there comforting him as much as possible. He WILL hold on
as long as he can knowing you're there for him and that you love
him.

Good luck with the pup, and let him know he is loved.

**edit**

oh yeah, if all goes well, the virus should run its course in 7-10 days.
so keep him alive as long as you can.

and don't forget, anywhere he throws up, pees, or poops, clean it VERY WELL with
hot, soapy water with bleach. And buy some Lysol also to help kill the virus.

Quarantine him in one room of the house to be sure none of the other pups get it.

My mother-in-law lost 3 puppies in the last 3 months because she didn't keep
the pup contained in a room, but rather left them outside to die and the virus
will be in her backyard for years now. The virus can live up to 3-7 years (in yard, or house), so make
sure you whip out the bleach-water and lysol!!!!
