Cutter Electronics: Complete DIY COB kits

Your correct, blacks will be early May, all our thermal testing was done on the clears, so they perform very well, but if black is your preference, it will be May. I have 1000 pcs shipping so will have plenty of stock. The heatsink has been tested at 50 watts, my advice if you want to jump to 1750 would be add the fan

Okay Mau5 I got 5 Cobs sitting here and need metal What's better angle or channel aluminum? Want to grab the metal tomorrow, would be great to put this thing together this weekend. I'll get you guys pics, throw me a bone

5 cxb3590 CD Bin 3500k in a 3x3 , thinking of this spread. Not many other options I'm guessing.

Looks good, nice even spread and all that's left is to work out the spacing between the cobs and your set.

hi guys!

can anyone advice where to buy a dimmer for this the mau5-kit and which driver to buy if i want to run only one or two of the cobs. sorry for not thanking appropriately for the help earlier but i was waiting for answers from cutter and thought i would share my findings with the community. for reasons unknown cutter wasnt interested in helping me out though, hence my continued wandrings in oblivion.

appreciate any help for sure

I know this is for DIY but I'm not ready for building my own just yet. I'm very interested in the Plc cx300. I'm unfamiliar with the drivers and cobs themselves and was wondering it this used the best materials to date. Is there a huge mark up on built kits?

I got screwed once in the kind led brand and would hate to buy 3-4 of these and get something that is outdated or not work flawlessly alone to grow

@Growmau5 thanks bud kinda what I was thinking too. I made some litecoin rigs for 4 gpu's in the past out of angle and notched the ends then. I'll then rivet that middle section to the sides

@GrumpyToker looks like a solid plan for the config. I would probably go with angled ( 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.125) that way you can notch the ends for the center cob (see pic)

@sinnamon Radio Shack in the pull out parts drawers, 100k ohm for a single driver. 50k ohm to dim 2 drivers simultaneously.
single driver: LPC-60-1400 or this new 80 single that GG is carrying

I have no experience with the spread of the cobs.

How far apart should the 4 cobs be when covering a 3x3? 2.5' apart? 2' apart?
