Cutting down moisture in Green House?

Every morning when I go out to open the flaps and turn on my fan in the green house, there is a TON of condensation on the plastic. This is not good because my plants are touching the sides and top of the green house, so this could potentially lead to mold.

Just wondering if I should leave the fan on/leave the vents open over night to prevent this? I always close them and shut everything off cause I thought it might get too cold for them? Even though Im in Southern Cali and its pretty warm at night.

Any ideas?

I have large fans in both greenhouses, blowing air out a vent on the North side. There are screened vents at the bottom of the other three sides. Those fans run all summer long, 24/7. On the high setting from mid July, on. Do what you can to pull the tops away from the ceiling. Touching deforms the buds and harbors mold. It is usually less of a problem against the walls.

Ok thanks. The top of 2 of the plants are running into the ceiling and its too late to top them cause they just started flowering last week. What would you suggest to keep them off the ceiling?

yeah I just run 2 fans all the time, one of them got unplugged the other day at 108f and burnt the tips of my tallest plants. I also noticed there was water on the plastic too as soon as I hooked the fan back up it went away but the damage was already done.

you might need to remove the green house or else your gona have a big mold problem. and thats a fact.

It's never too late to use LST and supercropping to get the buds off the ceiling. Use whatever you have to, but I suggest you do it. I have one plant that is massive. Lately, because I can only reach about 1/4 of the foliage, I stand on a bucket, and beat it with a stick. The branches break, but the skin remains intact, effectively supercropping them. Well this is my first grow and I don't know how to LST or supercrop. I am planning on bending the plants today by tying them down. Ive read this could work, and I could get them off the ceiling.

Removing the green house isn't really an option, I need it to hide the plants. Also, I am looking into buying a dehumidifier. Maybe I will also look into buying another small fan to put in there.

Ok so here is what I did today:

> Added another fan to the green house. It's a fan that sits on the ground and blows air towards the other end of the greenhouse, which has the fan pointing up, as you can see in the picture.

> I then tied the plants that were touching the ceiling, as you can see in the last few pictures. I used loose zip ties around the plant at the top and bottom and bent it down.

Does this look like a good solution? It won't hurt my plants right? Will this hopefully reduce the chances of mold and allow the top colas to grow big? I was also wondering, the fan is now blowing directly on the colas all the time, will this affect their growth?

ooo they look nice. i would just make shure they dont grow into the green house fabric, and also you might need a different fabric because im not for shure but i never seen that fabric used befor and that might cause condensation. so im thinking you can use more fans or buy the polyurethane fabric this stuff is what i see people use. this stuff wont condensate as much.

Ok, I just found a dehumidifier on CL for $40. Would it be worth investing in this to cut the condensation in the greenhouse? Would it help me? The condensation only really occurs at night and in the morning. Its dry all day. Should I buy it?

I'm mainly concerned about A) Drying out the greenhouse with the fans and dehumidifier and B) Heat being released from the dehumidifier into the greenhouse. What do you guys think?

Do you have vents in there? That is gong to be your problem bro, get some windows in that beyatch before you start getting mold. The fan wont hurt your buds, it will make the stems stronger so the buds should grow bigger.

Air should be rapidly exchanged with outside. Otherwise, evaporation will keep inside humidity very high. Unless tightly sealed the greenhouse won't benefit from the dehumidifier. Cheaper and easier to exhaust air through a ceiling vent.

Yes, there are 6 air vents, 3 on each side, you just can't see them in the pictures. When I checked on them this morning after leaving the fans on all night, there was absolutely no condensation on the greenhouse, and the plants looked extremely perky after being in the constantly flowing air all night

put a heater in your greenhouse for nights. Humidity is relative to the amount of moister the air can hold and the greatest amount of moister your room or greenhouse can hold.
Add heat or ventilation

I know this is ghetto but it worked for me
the fan oscillates hitting the top of the green house and keeps the tips from staying in one place for to long, I found with the fan 4 feet up like the stand they come on tended to dry my plants out

True, but a dehumidifier will cost a LOT less to run. Go for the dehumidifier you have been offered, SchwagBag, I would suggest.
