Cuttings Cost

Hi

I am relatively new to this, have being growing over the past year. I have a friend whom I purchase cuttings from. I purchase around 7 cuttings from him. Once the plants have grown a fair bit my friend then takes around 12 cuttings from my plants but doesn't pay for them which frustrates me. He said that they will grow back and that he needs to keep the mother going. I keep thinking that although i purchase the cuttings from him, not only is he not purchasing them from me but also reducing the value of my crop. I'd like to know if i'm correct here or if i'm mistaken and he is taking advantage ?

Thankyou. It did concern me. Basically, I initially pay him for 7 cuttings. He then takes 12 off me during the veg state but pays me nothing. Once mine has grown and sold I then purchase another 7 cuttings from him and the cycle starts again. So basically, each time for a new grow i'm paying for 7 cuttings, he takes 12 later from me and pays nothing !!!

He said that i'm the only one who has the 'main' plant that cuttings need to be taken from, but I don't believe him.

He does root the cuttings for me, but I still pay whereas he doesn't. Is this a fair deal ?

Even if you are the only one with the main plant, doesn't mean he should get to take them for free. If anything he should have to pay more... Supply and demand.

Can I ask ? Those that have had cuttings taken from them, do I need to let them grow more and for longer periods in order to recover from the cuttings being taken ? Apologies if it sounds dumb, but thanks for the good answers guys.

It sounds like your paying him to root the cuttings for you though which does take time and a little effort.

I take cuttings from my plants from the bottom then put it directly into flower because I would trim the bottom 1/3 of the plant anyway.

Then a week later or so IL trim the plant a little more it's called lollipop ping if you want to look it up.

I have taken cuttings from the top as well and it just increases yield anyway imo. With no recovery time at all. Do this before flower though.

Thanks guys. I have more of an answer. I just wanted to make sure that the amount of cuttings he takes from me at no cost and the amount I purchase from him works out about even, especially as he is rooting them,

It depends on if you are getting the results u want. Judge for yourself, we have no idea what your plants look like, right?

Learn to take your own cuttings from now on. Once you're not dependent on Joey then he'll have to buy plants from you!
That, or trade him, like i said.... Barter and no cash exchanged. He gets cuts off your plants and then roots yours.

If he is useing an aero cloner, it takes zero effort to root them. It is basically a set and forget type process. With that said, you should clone your own plants then tell him to get fucked. He has been ripping you off for too long.

You're being taken advantage of. How much are you paying per clone?

Try this, take your own cutting and place it in the corner of your veg room in a glass of water. Change the water weekly if you remember. In 1-3wks you should have roots.
