That sucks straight road f'd you over..

So after much deliberation and reading my ass off, I'm going with a 5 cob light. I worked out a plan today that looks workable. Running two, 3 cob bars would be scorching for my space.

I sure like your setup though. Great work!

Thanks man greatly appreciated. I'm pretty proud of how it all came out. First time building anything like this. The next one I build will be a whole lot cheaper. I spent a good amount of money on the random little connections and tools. Was a bit impulsive. It really is not hard to do though. Feel free to hit me up with any questions or if you need to borrow anything.
I think the wagon connections are some of the best part. They make connecting and disconnection so simple. And I'll say again the drill press is well worth it man, either to buy or borrow mine. I really don't have much use for it otherwise so would love to see it be used lol.
I think 5 will be more than enough. 6 is a stupid amount of light in my 3x3 haha. Once I fired the second light up temps rose pretty quick. Had to turn my 6" can fan Max pro all the way up to keep tent at 80 degrees. Think I will try hooking both my drivers up to my controller and run at maybe 80% for the first part of flower and then let them run at the end. Only issue is my controller will only do 12 hours. Will work for flower, and I guess after this run that's all they will be used for.
Let me know when you're ready to build and ilk tell you exactly what I used from where. Fry's has a ton of good stuff, it was my first time going there and wish it wasn't the last place I went to haha.

I appreciate the offer on loaning me the press.. Thank you that's very nice and I might take you up on that as the design I've got coming will require more drilling than I thought.

I was wondering if Fry's had stuff. I was in there the other day looking for heat sink but they didn't have it. That won't come cheap. You've got your lights on a dimmer right?

There are new drivers coming out I was just reading... Hlg-320h series... Maybe a 6 cob, single driver light is in my future lol!

Just pm me if you want to use it the drill press. I bought it to be used, not sit in my closet.
Ya fry's had a ton of stuff a whole lot cheaper than home depot too.
So StraightRoad is ducking me around more. They got my driver last Monday. I didn't hear anything from them all week. So Friday I emailed saying I would just like a refund, done dealing with their unprofessional Shit. Here is their response.
"
Hi Karl,

My apologies in advance for the delay, our QA manager was out the office for a few days (funeral) and she is now working on your RMA. Following is our RMA procedure for your reference.

Once we receive the part back from Customer we sent back to the Manufacturer for evaluation. Once they have completed their evaluation, one out of the 2 options apply:

1. Re-work and send part back to us.

2. Send replacement part.

When we receive the part back from Manufacturer, then we issue a credit and re-bill and send back the re-worked part or new replacement part.

No credit will be issued by Straight Road, until evaluation by Manufacturer is complete.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you but we cannot accommodate your request, to issue a credit immediately. Be assured, we have prioritized this RMA and will update as soon as we hear back from our Manufacturer."
Isn't that convenient. Also Julia never said anything about sending the driver back to Mean Well when I requested a refund.

"Hi Karl,

The wiring diagram was checked and we think everything is correct. Based on calculation you should be able to measure 108Vdc@1750mA at the output leads of the HLG-240H-C1750 to the LEDS.

Can you turn on the unit without the LEDs connected and should measure ~143Vdc at the output. We want to make sure it is a bad driver. If you cannot measure then you can send it back for testing."

I am copy and pasting her responses so people do not think I am exaggerating the situation. StraightRoad is a shit company that will try it's hardest to weasel out of any situation. They knew they would have to send my driver back to Mean Well why did they waste a week having me test things? I'm guessing it will be at least a month before I see a new driver. I have the day off from work because of rain and I am seriously contemplating going down to my bank and filing fraud charges. Every other company I dealt with on this build, and trust there was a TON of them went smoothly. Straightroad screwed up every single part on their end.

Well I finally got my system all dialed in I found raising my lights up next to my 6" exhaust fan solved all my issues. I am able to run all 100% and leaf zone temps stay at 75. They have also started growing up a little more instead of just out. Think this will work much better to let the plants grow to them. But man these sour sherburt are some bushy bitches.IMAG1346.jpg
It was not easy going from hand watering rock wool under weak lights, to now a fully automated system in coco under the brightest fucking lights man has invented. It was quite the learning curve but now I have a real good feel for how the whole system works. Ton of time and hard work put into this whole setup and it is super gratifying to see it all work. I will start flowering today.
IMAG1348.jpg
Set up the veg side yesterday, the seedlings just seemed stunted under the cxbs, maybe the light was just too intense. I think I will give the first batch a month in there and then move to flower room. But that all depends how much room the current sherbet end up taking up after stretch. Those veg leds are fairly week so I think they would be fine 2 months in there but would like to get more of a perpetual grow going eventually. I also popped 3 Exotic Genetix Gutbuster, 2 LA Plata Labs Alien Blues, and 1 Johnston Genetics Captain Purple Berries Cookies last night.

Check out this fan leaf. Picture doesn't do size justice. Way bigger than my hand and I'm a pretty big guy.IMAG1273.jpg
And a little bonus shot of a fish tank I set up as a surprise for my wife.IMAG1277.jpgThere is 20 Harlequin Raspboras and 8 Pygmy Corries. The harlequins are just the coolest fish. Constantly moving in the right school, often the pygymy's join the school. And they eat! Feeding 3 times a day and it is a frenzy every time. Tank is a Mr Aqua 12 gallon long.

Thought I would update. These lights are just killing it! Was growing 4 sour sherburt but 2 hermied the first week of flower. Guess it's not the end of the world as these 2 girls are taking over the place. On day 25 of flowering already the flowers are bigger than my last(first ever) grow.IMAG1555.jpg IMAG1568.jpg

Could not be any happier with how things are going. These lights truly are the Shit and worth every hour and dollar. Hand plants are in 3 gallon smart pots with GH coco perlite mix, 1" hydrocorn on top and bottom of pot. Feeding GH line at 3/4 strength with drip clean added at recommended dose.
Added 2 La Plate Alien Blues and 2 Exotic Genetix Gutbuster after only a week of veg. One alien blues showed male after a week and the rest are still unsexed.

They came from a hermied plant to begin with from a friend. So they were already prone to hermie. Add in that sherburt has gsc in it and the chances are greater I believe.
The other 2 are looking strong af so fingers crossed they make it through the rest with no more nanners. I check every day that's for sure.

I just popped 4 more of the ab yesterday, 100% germ on them and all popped within 24 hours. Seems a super vigorous strain. This plant won't be a very good indication as it only had a week of veg and is getting majorly shaded by the sherbert. My next run should be a whole lot better as they will have at least 5 weeks of veg.

So I dm'd exotic. They are sending me a replacement pack of my choice for free. He has been really understanding and quick to reply so props for that. Hoping to get some blackberry cream. If these do well I will definitely purchase exotic again.

What did you use for the seeds? I have only used herbies. But they don't carry any LA Plata.

Thedankteam.com Was shorted 1 seed only came with 9. Not sure if it was them or LA Plata's screw up. They come in a tube so it would be easy to pop open and take one out. The exotic were in a sealed breeder box and had 15. Would still buy from them again though, as I couldn't say for sure who's to blame. Got confirmation, tracking like next day and had the beans from MI to CA in like 3-4, they ship priority. They are quite a bit cheaper than anyone else, think the ab were like $20 or so cheaper than seedsherenow. Also sent 3 Johnston Captain purple berry cookies for free.

The led haters claim we never show finished product. Well here's mine, rock hard and as frosty as any GPS bud.IMG_20160521_194652.jpg IMAG2235.jpg IMAG2200.jpgThese are all lowers, the tops are even better.
Alien blues is beasting for having practically no veg. Looks like I should get about a zip from her. @Airwalker16 she is the best smelling bud ever, just reeks of fresh blueberry muffins with a hint of skunk. She has these great rock hard golf ball colas. Wish I had taken clones. Have another in flower now, hope she lives up to her sister.IMG_20160521_094742.jpgRight now I have Exotic Genetix blackberry cream and gutbuster along with the alien blues.
Just ordered some Exotic Genetix Chocolate Oranges and Thug Pug Afterglow. So stoked about the chocolate oranges, mint chocolate chip mother and orange valley father should be fire! The afterglow should be great also. I don't think I have seen a bad mendo breath. Will definitely be stepping my clone game up.

I hate regular seeds :( I wish that I could get this shit in fem!
Not going to argue about it, but I just don't understand your dislike of regular seeds. Every male I have had showed sex long before the gems and it's not like they nut the second they show balls. Seeds are cheap, germ twice as many as you want then you can pick your favorites to put in flower. 3 of the 4 males I got this past run showed in veg. You could just run one pack and take clones then you won't have to worry about it again.

So much heat in the veg area had to go buy a smoke alarm and fire extinguisher.IMAG2332.jpgFrom Exotic Genetix- 6 Blackberry Cream(blackberry kush x cookies & cream), 2 gutbuster(kimbo kush x cookies & cream), 3 chocolate oranges(orange valley og x mint chocolate chip cookies). And from Thug Pug Genetics- 5 meatbreath(meatloaf gsc x mendobreath), 4 afterglow(mendobreath afterglow cut x mendobreath)
Should be a lot of fun. Have almost 2 months to veg. Will be taking clones of everything asap.
