I believe cxb 3590 3500ºk 36V CD are the one you are talking about!
And they are about 55% efficient @1400mA...so @1050mA they should be even more efficient!
Good idea to go with 1050mA if I have seen my cob @1400mA before (so fucking bright!!!) I would have gone with 1050

I'm happy to hear about the light intensity at this level of output, cuz I'm allllllll done with dim bulbs!

I have only the 3000k but some here have tried both and they say 3500k is better. Don't know about the density. Maybe someone who have tried both can help us

The 3000K is available in CB bin (11500 lumens typical) and the 3500K is available in CD (12500 lumens typical). That makes it seem like the 3500K is a huge step up in output and maybe it is, but in reality that is probably not the case. They are probably made from the same top bin blue dies. So the 3000K may be pushing the mid and upper limits of the CB bin and the 3500K maybe be in the lower-mid range of the CD bin.

On top of that the 3000K makes slightly more photons/lumen than the 3500K and those photons are slightly more photosynthetically efficient because more of them are in the redder range. So 3000K vs 3500K is not a huge deal as long as they are both the top bins for their range. I have used 3000K CB, 3500K CD and 4000K CD. Still experimenting but so far I cannot detect a difference in the outcome.

I figured there was not much point in deliberating it too much without solid data to judge by, so I invested primarily in the 3500K CD, close enough for now. One thing I am certain of, it was a huge step up from the CXA3070 3K AB I was using, and they were working great.

I kind of figured as much in relation to the Temperature of the light. I mean there will be some differences for sure-but to say one is clearly superior to another, i don't think we'll get that definitive answer.

my 3500k are on their way and my heat sinks are on the way.i already have my drivers.cant wait to try the new experiment!

A post to say thanks again to Supraspl to enlightened me about cob and particularly cxb 3590 3500ºk CD...I am very pleased with them now...4 @1400mA are covering a 3.5x3.5x4.5 grow box...no black spot...I can't believe my eyes...200w covering this space...I was planning to add my Chinese led with but I am not sure now.

I came to this forum because I'm a bit of a gadget guy and some friends asked me to investigate building them some DIY LED stuff, on a not-for-profit-just-for-the-hell-of-it basis.

Props to you Supra, i built one of those low wattage veg lights you had a thread on thcfarmer.
i was curious if there is a better driver to run the Xlamps with.

Supra im trying to fire up this light..19 10 watt cree x-lamps..i think the fast tech driver is beat
is there something better to run this with ? a meanwell with a dimmer would be tits thanks

Hey man, what driver was it this one fasttech 18-36?

You could use the$30 Mean Well HLN-40H-54A , dimmable from 450-750mA or the HLN-40H-54B dimmable from 75mA-750mA

well i figured it out, these cheap little drivers can only power up 6 XLM's,
got the MW HLN-40H-54B coming via homing pigeon
