Dabumps mental handicap thread!

It's been brought to my attention that I ask way too many questions EVERYWHERE and do so with little time invested to learn from previous writings. Though I do subscribe to the "teach a man to fish" theory I feel that asking is a quick and efficient way of grabbing the proverbial pole. I understand that most people's opinion of me is "sub par". I hope to change that. I plan to keep all of my questions within the boundaries of this thread. No more are the days of blowing up other peoples (sorry bugs) thread. No more will I start a thread with new problems. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to any and everyone that has fallen victim to my questions. I aspire to one day speak competently and with as much precision as the greats of this forum. So without further adieu I introduce "DABUMPS MENTAL HANDICAP THREAD". First question! Should I flip back to 20/4 or should I stay 18/6? I seem to remember bugs saying 20/4 was optimum....

1. subs recipe for SS calls for 5 pounds of 0-5-0 bat guano. If you where to use 0-12-0 bat guano, would you use the same amount? or use half as much?

2. I see for lighter feeding plants to only use 1/4 full of SS in your contaner and for Heaver feeders to use 1/2 full. Would it be better to still use 1/4 SS, but to mix that 1/4 SS with base soil up to the halfway mark???

As to your question, my humble opinion is to stay with what your doing (18/6). Fewer changes = less stressful = more good. That rule of thumb holds pretty universally with growing...

1) 1/2 as much would be better

2) no, the reason you use the base soil is so your plant can grow through the not so rich base soil and reach into the super nutrient rich super soil. if your plant is a really hungry strain and well established, you could mix like you mentioned although your base soil should have enough nutrients in it to tie you over until the plant reaches the SS

Hello DaBumps/anyone else interested,

Just so you know, in case you don't, when wanting to search RIU threads in Google, in the search bar type for example:

site:rollitup.org SuperSoil

,and you will retrieve a lot of pages in different threads pertaining to whatever your searching for. The typed words, site:rollitup.org, typed before any keywords is how to allow Google to search RIU for you. You can also get really specific, just use key words. This helps when wanting to search for something general or really specific in a really long thread, and you don't want to re-read the 100 pages or so . Just a quick and dirty search function that basically allows Google to act as RIU's search engine, so you can get better results for exactly what you're looking for.

So I have a new question!! I was supercropping down the 4 top I have to let the 8 spread out and I pinched (maybe too hard) but I put a hole in the stem. When I look @ it at a certain angle it's like looking through the eye of a needle! Will she recover?!

wrap it with a little scotch tape. i have broken top branches clean off and had them heal up 100% (though that branch will be stunted for about 5 days) by just using scotch tape. this works very well if you are still in veg.

Yup I'm in veg. It doesn't seem too bad off at the moment. it's actually still growing up. I think I have freak plants. But maybe it's not hit it yet. IDK. Thanks for the hasty replies.

dont confuse the principle of mixing soil with growing. yea if you let your medium get bone dry the microbes will go dorment. but, in your case as a beginner u need to let your pots dry out. maintaining an even moisture level is for those with more experience. rookies need to let their pots to get light. because they overwater. learn what a light pot, low on water feels like and compare to a pot thats saturated.
