Dark vs light in flowering stage

This may sound dumb to some of you but I'm going to ask anyway. In the flowering stage you're supposed to switch to 12/12 light/dark, can you give a marijuana plant more than 12 hours of darkness ?

You can but it will add time to the grow.12/12 is optimum.I tried it to cut cost one winter, a cycle called 12/1 and in the flowering stage it has 14 hrs of darkness.Added a month to my flowering time.

That is something I definitely need to consider. Did it give you bigger buds

You didn't do something right I'm guessin? I also run 12/1 for veg and my finish times are always faster by 7 to 10 days than what they used to be usin the same clones

i am running 10/14 from 12/12 my results they finish a week or more faster and every thing is the same . you could say the quality is better . there are a LOT of debate on the best time to flower some people wont change and others trying new things im loving the 10/14 used to do 12/12 for ever dont see my self changing back

really .?? no drop in yield?? how many lights do you use. ?? you might be on to something. cuz your saving 120 hours per bloom based on a 8 week cycle times 12 lights that i run.. hmm very interesting.

I was under the impression that a smaller light period would produce a smaller yeild and never found they finished much earlier. If you can reliabally use 11/13 and finish earlier with no loss of yeild then running 12/12 would be redundant or weve been doing somthing wrong for 30 or so years of indoor growing.

We take 12/12 as a golden rule but outdoors youd be lucky to get eight weeks of this perfect light cycle. Obviously the more light the more growth, photosynthesis dosent work any other way.

Some run infared to speed up the dark cycle, 20 mins at lights off could possibly shorten your dark cycle plus theres the other cycles but few hit the mainstream.

yes amount of lighting could be a serious issue. i currently use 1000 watt hps and 600 watt hps great results with the 10/14 and also messing with a 1200 watt led an its working excellent with the 10/14 so for the amount of yield i lost . i dont notice any . and its shaving a lot of time off the crops . i run a lot of extra lighting you need to wear safety equipment in my rooms hats glasses so on . so . i just get sick of waiting 3 or 5 weeks and plants dont get any bigger at some point just wait and wait kill the e bill with the 12/12 the 10/14 they got just as big as the 12/12 buy much faster . i did a post on this a few weeks back . currently on my 3d grow 10/14 so first 2 were excellent 3 looks very good . same strands . if you have limited lighting this shorter hours could fuck you . me i like 600 watts in a 3/3 area or 1000 4/4 4 or 6 plants . medium per light or 1 600 per plant or 1000 per plant depending . i think cfl or t5 grows best to stick with the 12/12 .

has anybody ever noticed you scope out the plants out with your 30 x scope they look almost one and you go back to check them in 3 or so days later expecting them be done and have to actually wait 2 or more weeks to the are actually done this pisses me off . with the 10/14 i scope them and pull them days later .

Hi everyone. New ?
If I have a 1200w led on 2 plants during veg, can I still add another light at flowering time or before?
