Darkness or No Darkness?

Whats up people,

I am four weeks into my first grow and was thinking its time to switch my plant over to 12/12 light cycle right at the five week mark. What I would like to know is what the opinions are out there amongst you all about going totally dark for at least 24 hours before starting a 12/12 light cycle.

Any input is very much appreciated. I have learned tons already from all of you and am always looking for more. Many of you have forgotten more than I have learned so speak up please...lol.

i;ve done it in the past, and i have to say that i didn't notice any real difference in how quickly they started to flower or anything, but i always wait till i see preflowers before i switch anyways, so i don't know if that has anything to do with it or not..
it always kinda made sense to me in theory though..

Thx Man,

I have a small cabinet cfl grow going. Just want to make sure I flower soon enough and not have space issues. I havent seen any sign of pre-flower yet but hen again my plant is only 6 inches tall. Am just trying making sure I have clear info to go by before I do it.

how much height do you have in it? just have to take into account that your plants will atleast double and possibly triple in size from when you put them into flower,, what strain are you growing?

i use 36 hour d hour dark at switch and 48 at harvest if you want to see buds right away try this 36 hour dark followed by bud blood at lights on- BAM

It allows the plant to build more of the chemical with-in the plant that starts the flowering process.

Not positive on it but I believe that's the science behind it.

Let her sleep for 24 hours and then switch to 12/12... Then in the week that you are going to harvest let her sleep for about 2-3 days and then harvest... Makes a big differance...

I have it listed on my grow link but the dimensions are approximately 26"w x 18"d x 26" high inside the cabinet.

I just moved from AZ out east..Lived there for 23 years.

very cool.. im in the middle of my first lst job on my current crop of sannies blueberry x chemdawg, and i'm super stoked on the results so far, and on top of that when i just went to re tie them today, i noticed that the all three bb x cd's are bitches.. and just when i was hoping for one male to do a lil pollen chucking, lol..

Ha..nice man! Gratz are in order. My first girl..fem'ed seed to being hopeful cuz stranger shit has happened..is short and bushy. Havent had much need so far to lst. Tied a few branches off to make them spread out a bit but they arent very long. If i werent afraid of not having enough room in my cabinet, I would let her veg another two weeks. Maybe you can look into my grow and let me know if I may be able to let her go a bit more. Either way thanks for teh input here.
