Look mold will kill your buds worse than light will. If you put freshly cut bud in a drawer you will have no air flow and it will seriously risk molding. First and foremost, find a place that is well ventilated and a light fan blowing will help to stop stagnant moist air from sitting on the buds.

When they say 'light' anyway, it's mostly the UV which will degrade the THC- so your room light isn't at all like leaving them outside or by the window.

PS: I myself in the past and other people who's bud i've smoked have dried it in regular room light to no known ill effect. What ever was damaged wasn't enough to 'ruin it' or even come close to that. I think it's really actually the least of all your problems that you could face- especially if you've ever seen stuff that's hanging up to dry go moldy.

Intense light might damage THC (the sun, an HPS) but ambient room lighting isnt going to be an issue. Stagnant air is an issue.

It'll be in a bedroom on the drying rack you see as my avatar. i have a flouresent light at the other end of the room vegging my clones. there is a ceiling fan circulating air though...

Good to know ambient light will not affect buds, I too was wondering about the complete darkness when harvested, thanks.

You want a spce thats not too hot, has a small fan in it and is "kinda" dark.. just no direct sunlight...

When it's drying time here-- we empty the Linen closet and use 2 "J-hooks" and a chain across the top and some wire racks with a small desc fan... when it is real humid, a small tub of "Basement dry/Damp-out" lowers the humidity and allows them to dry in the dark!

I just posted a step by step on drying around here somewhere-- let me go find it... BRB!

It's still good to keep the buds in the dark.

As little sense as this might make, I think the reason you should avoid light while drying is to avoid reveg. Yes, reveg.

I know it can't actually "reveg" without a stem and roots, but if you keep it dark, you know it will keep "flowering" as it dries.
