Day 15 of veg , Update

Oh Kush fem, RQS.
Applied LST two days ago and trims leafs that were to close to soil level. Thinking about cutting of some large fan leaves for more light penitration.but unsure if it's too soon.

When did you start counting veg?
How long from sprout?

There’s really no need to hack off fans at this point. Light penetration doesnt mean much to such a small plant. the whole thing is getting roughly the same light penetration. when you have a 5 foot tall plant, then its a little different.

Patience… is what most new growers lack

So the plant is actually 5-1/2 weeks old.........not 15 days.

Veg doesn't start till fan leaves appear technically....

Your timeline is misleading. Like almost everybody, I start counting at sprout.
That being said........your plant is very healthy.

Yeah most are gonna start counting veg at sprout. Too many variables to define veg starting at any other point, but it doesn't really matter. The size of your plant when you begin flowering is more important than how many days of veg it’s been. The plant doesn’t care how old it is, unless it’s an auto I guess.

Same for flowering. Day 1 is the day you flip to 12/12. Some will say to count from when you see pistils but again, lots of variables there (what if you didnt see the pistils the day they first appeared?) Maybe ok if you have just a couple plants and you’re constantly eyeball-f***king them, but impractical when you have a large flower room with many plants.

It’s really just about consistency. You know definitively the day it sprouts above ground. you know the day you flip to 12/12. Those are concrete. Anything else is more guesswork than fact.

Would not trim anything at this point. looking good and on time. Most folks wait until it matures and starts sprouting secondary sites along the stems and then you will want to leaf tuck first to expose this sites not defol. Here is a plant at 4 weeks above ground that was fimmed and lst with fixtures. Leaves have been tucked to expose site.


At this time there is minimal benefit from doing this. As A new grower I take every opportunity to practice and doing this early will not hurt the plant.
The only thing to defol if you must would be dead round leaves and any low leaves hanging in dirt that you can not train up and out of the dirt

Love how you offset the seedling position to train in one direction. I leave a single run backward with the expectation if I can not control it I will supercrop it back down.

It wasn't intentional but I think it looks kinda cool lol. Eventually when she braches out more I can fill in a little more of the pot or at least attempt
