Looks like a root problem. Give us some more information on your grow? Or just not getting the light under the canopy

Get all that stuff out of there if u can all the dead stuff . They need to breath in there. If it's not getting light u can prob pull em off .good luck!

The dead leaves in your pic weren't getting enough light to make up for the energy it took to keep them alive. It looks just like the interior of my outdoor plant this summer.
Ripping off the leaves blocking the lower leaves would be a bad idea. The canopy is what powers bud development. I'm assuming Jack was referring to lollypoping. That would help.
