Day 42 of flowering....buds look like they should be bigger to me....

Ok my first grow and my caregiver says the plants look like they should be bigger. I've been thinking that myself lately. I have 2 LA confidential, and 2 ATF. The LAs are in Roots soil, ATFs in Foxfarm Ocean Blend. I feed them once a week with Gen. Hydo. base nutes as well as molasses, and Roots liquid bat guano. I was using House and Garden Multi Zen and Silica but have stopped using those according to instructions. I think I should've used more nutes and I think I may need more light or at least a tent so I have more light per sq. foot.I'm using a 1000w but like I said they're in my guest room when they sould be in a tent. Am I worried for nothing? Do they have time to bulk up? should I up the nutrients this late into flowering? Here's some close up pics of the LAs from day 25 as well as a pic of my setup. I'll post some more detailed pics and close ups of both strains in about 3 hours when the dark period is over for comparison. Man I hope they get bigger...Thanks for all replies and help-Sandoz

Looks good but i totally agree with you; you need a tent to capture the light in a specific area or lower the light if possible w/out causing bleaching and more heat. I also suggest some side/under lighting via cfl's. I just realized u said that pic was at 25 days of 12/12? You should be fine; i have 2 blueberries and they have bud sites nearly that size and have been in flower for 21 days. If that pic was at 25 days, you should b good. Nice frost forming on leaves, looking primo.

Thanks for the compliments:joint:. Now I can't wait to post the pics in an hour and a half. They've gotten really frosty:) I'm just worried about the yield. I have 2 oscillating fans that you cant see n the pics and the can fan keeps that room at a perfect temp. I've got a chain and might lower the light but they're already about 2 feet from the light as it is now that its day 42. I need to post those updated pics. Back in an hour and a half. good call on the cfls btw..

id take quality over quantity any day!
they should start bulking up quick ...considering your using a 1000 w
they look healthy and that's what will give you good yield in the end.

only thing i see is you are loosing a bit of reflected light not having them closed in on all 4 sides.
you could get some white poly and close in the other 2 sides a bit more.

also light could be at 21"

Ok so here's what they look like as of 5 minutes ago...day 42...the LAs are in the back and the ATFs in the front (Hope you can tell the difference, I don't know how to label the pics). Do they look behind schedule? any suggestions? How long do have left to flower? I dont see how the colas will fill out in 2 weeks...thanks for all replies.

I would add some more lights next grow, say 2- 250's on the sides of the 1000 which will help with yield. You definitely will get more bud with more light. I feed ever other watering personally at 650-700 PPM, and never stop feeding. Those plants still have time to get bigger, as a lot of plants pick up a lot in the last couple of weeks. Oh, and you don't need to use molasses with every watering, just once a month will do.

He has a 1000 w HPS lamp and you are telling him to ad 2 - 250's on the side??? WTF, why?

I tend to think that light will only go so far and that strain is plays a factor in yield. I've used the same setup for 3 years and I never yield the same, anywhere from 5-7oz. I use the same grow methods and veg all of my plants 35 days.

Most strains put on a lot of the weight the last 3-4 weeks of flower. And don't listen to the breeders flower times. In most cases that is under optimal conditions and most growers around here do not have optimal conditions. Looks like you are on track, adding more light at this time won't do a thing, you already have enough light for the amount of plants you have. Beginner growers should worry more about keeping the plant healthy and thriving then worrying about yield. When you get everything dialed in your yield will increase but for now keep them healthy.

By the looks of them you easily have 3 -4 weeks left, minimum.

A few of those pictures have eat stress. Do you have an oscillating fan in that room? I always have a fan blowing between the bud tops and the hood to help eliminate that intense heat radiating from that 1000w

Just what I needed to hear. I was looking for feedback from some ppl who have already cropped out. I'm pretty excited to harvest, but I'm in no rush and want them to grow to full potential. I'm putting all donations for excess meds towards a tent, more nutes and a veg light. As long as I get those things and some chronic, I'll be happy. 3-4 weeks gives them plenty of time to bulk up. Thanks for all of the replies.

Two Oscillating fans and an 8inch can fan sucking the heat out of the room. The can fan can be ducted to multiple lights but its just being used on my one bulb. Temp isn't an issue, but thank tou for the suggestion:)
