Note: Didn’t make any of this, just combined recipes I found and it works well. Been growing in hydro for over 10 years. This just works in my environment and I have tried a lot of products, cheap too. This works for DWC and I’ll be testing in coco soon. Just started really getting into soil in 22’.

Started 12 Top Dawg Stardawg IX seeds. My Solfire Mega Mind have also popped.

-Waterproof Vinyl Flooring
(24 plant limit)

Also have an outdoor and about to downsize but we will come back to that.

How to make live Rosin without a freeze dryer

1.) Harvest plant and trim of leaves fresh. (If not making LIVE, do this with cured bud.)

2Freeze for 24-48 hours. You don’t really want to go over 24 I guess damage can happen from the frost after that point. You can run strings on the mouth of you freezer and hang the buds to freeze so they don’t loose shape.

3.) Wash your material in your portable washer. Make sure you do this in a cold room around 60F. 30 min cycles 2-3 times repeated after step 4. Make sure to have ice water ready before adding in cannabis to washing machine.

4.) Dump water into bubblebags using as many as you’d like. I personally only use 220, 160, & 25. 160-75 and 75-25 are separated when collected from bag and placed on drying screens to dry. The drying screens are placed atop pieces of cardboard. Continually move when placed until water stops visibly pooling beneath screens. This water buildup of allowed will make your has dry into a much denser consistency making it difficult to deal with later. You want as close to sand as possible before you press. Repeat step 3 until you’re comfortable with yield diminishing point (every run gets smaller and you still have to add ice).

5.) drying keif without freeze dryer- there are a bunch of methods for this but I live in a dry climate and this works for me. Place on 25 micron drying screens. Place screen atop cardboard. Continually move around first 24 hours. Keep breaking up chunks over the next couple days. This takes about a week for me in my cold room. After this I hydroplane (I’ve a little mesh screen).Like those small metal mesh handheld strainer you can get from Walmart. And allow it to dry.

6.) press this dry keif @150F-170 (this is a great quality window and shouldn’t damage any terpsthen press again later with stacked rosin chips @ 200F (for edibles).

Tropicana Banana (Barney’s):

My son was born at 5am 1/19/23, been out of town for almost 2 days but get to go home soon.

I started the Stardawg IX pack and it’s been at my house in rockwool with no water for almost 2 days. Fingers crossed they make it till I get home. The Solfire Mega Mind was eaten by my cat sadly as well the morning of. Little wind on a perfect day. I’ll be back at it soon.

I think a few of the Stardawg IX will make it, fingers crossed at least. You can see the stem breaking away from the seed shell. Everything is still very fragile. Making F2s
4435-5235 Watt Room
Finally have the plants on the right track. Had a few problems; root rot, Mag deficiencies, & high PH. Everything fixed and looks good now. Will drop bottom SCROG lower and flower as soon as it fills out. This is the final test for current pheno hunt. Here are picture of the setup. Will be switching to (2) 4x4 tents soon so no need to log specs yet.

1 StarDawg IX made it so far, hopefully more. Only removed one for sure so far. Ordered a pack of Mamiko Chem Cookies (Original Chem x Forum release)

1 Stardawg IX is a maybe if it’ll make it pass the seedling stage. Don’t know if it’s going to produce it’s second set of true leaves. Hopefully it does and is a boy so I can cross it to the Chem Cookies for a pheno hunt. One more seed alive the others all rotted, seemed like they couldnt shed their seed casing but after 2 plus days it’s purely operator error.
The Jam On it #2 (Easiest to grow pheno) the #4 not pictured is my favorite with tightest node spacing. Think I could have a homerun if they don’t herm.
Favorite Banana Burger Mousse pheno #4, the nose in Veg is amazing and loving the balanced node spacing. High hopes for this strain.
Midtown Madness #1, the more difficult to grow pheno but it shows a lot of the characteristics of a straight sour d.

Almost popped the Rainbowchip F2s but I’m gonna stick with clones. No more pheno hunting till outdoor season.

Taking clones today so I can have them ready if I choose a keeper. Scrog should be fillies in 2-4 weeks. Taking a bunch of clones of the Tropicana cherry #8.

My buddy got me a vault drop pack of Exotics Genetics Trap Star because he wants me to run it into F2s then find the most “The Cube” phenos. Then lock in these traits into F3s.

Calling it on the Stardawg IX. Just gonna wait till his next drop of Stardawg unfortunately but forced myself to stop buying seeds and just get clones, but Top Dawg Stardawg and Skunkhouse Mod Banana are the only exceptions.

My entire room is finally almost on auto-pilot. Just have to finish the scrog net and fill the room. Net should be done Monday.
Flushed my drip lines with chlorine and then flushed with water. After that I hooked a air pump up to the line and pumped air into them overnight.
Took 5 clones of each test pheno and 12 of the Trop Cherry 8.
when I clone I heat sterilize before every seed started plant. Anything brought in gets it’s own scalpel (Trop Cherry #8 ). I usually grab about 20 snips and choose the best ones as well.

I let my soil dry out to the point of near hydrophobic. I did this to kill the root rot. I then did the math and added 1.35 gallons of water over 3 waterings in a day. I’ll repeat this every 3-4 days now.

Will be adding D.Earth and yellow sticky traps. After that I’ll clean with bleach and then finish stringing up scrog. I’ll post pictures soon.

Almost done, then I’ll transfer all my data over and start this journal.

*Diatomaceous Earth should be applied carefully. I use a respirator I use for paint spraying. I use 1 cup as a top dressing for each 15 gallon. And will add to keep a layer consistant if I loose any to spraying leaves. I’m only doing this because I’m using a drip system that doesn’t permeate the top couple inches of soil except in a few half dollar sized spots under the droppers. When wet the DE becomes less effective (Debated subject but still, a good silica supplement along with other MOs and Trace minerals if I’m not mistaken.) if I was using a different system I’d use something else (Sand, neem cake, Etc.). Since I don’t hydrate the top couple inches this works very well as a cheap preventative.

* SCROG nets are tedious work handmade like this. Doing it this way makes you understand why most people just buy trellis. When you hand weave make sure to weave under looser pieces and over higher pieces. This will make a more connected and even net.

Clones are starting to root, as soon as I have one of each pheno separated I’m ready to flower as soon as the room is filled enough.

Decided on an OG Kush variety, an Heirloom OG Kush variety from California that I previously had, but lost (Covered in another journal). Also sourced my Stardawg but will likely go with the Guava over the Corey if I don’t grab both. I’m going to try to see if I can get the GMO with the OG Kush. Found someone to trade snips with for the Josey for my Trop Cherry #8.

The only clones not rooted are the Midtown Madness #1. Successfully revegged the other pheno so now I just have to put them head to head.

My 3 leaf pheno of Banana Burger Mousse #1 (above), Smells unbelievably dank in Veg. I’ve never had a plant stink this much in veg state.

The Jesus OG Kush pack I have is 10 years old and the Trap Star is 6. Need to order the equipment to germinate old seeds. Will do one pack at a time starting with JOGK, followed by TS.
Collect male and female reversal pollen from all phenos and cross all phenos in each combination using either SOG style or branch pollenation. Most likely branch to keep count low as possible.
Two at a time [#1 x #4 or #1 x #1 for example], if all 5 make it this itself will still be up to 25 crosses. Leaving the only none crossables phenos being male to male. This seems like the best way to preserve these genetics. I myself will try to bring out a grandparent pheno of Jacks cleaner from the project down the road.

Kind of regret getting the Skunk. I’m not chasing the “lost” skunk unless it’s Albert Walker. Even if this is legit I won’t try it out for some time. Currentlay focused on seed strain varieties like; OG, OGKB, MAC, GMO, Starfighter, & Alien.

Harvest Tec:
I follow Big Stimmy here. I tried his harvest method last year and haven’t looked back.

Starting there is nothing special here but a slightly excessive dry back prior to harvest. Lights on lights off doesn’t matter no affect to lab results.
As we proceed we follow an almost modified DotV method. Harvest at the base and hang the entire plant w/o defoliating.

Phase I:
(Room Conditions 65-68F, 60% Humidity)
Time period 7-10 Days
Make sure the air is moving but keep from any direct fanning of the plants.
*When large stems of plants begin to crack. Not snap or bend, but crack as you break it. Ready to break it down.

Phase II (Binning):
(Room Conditions 60-65F, 60% Humidity)
Chip the plants into 12-24” sections and place into bags that line a plastic bin sized to your grow (Almost a modified sweating tec but so much easier). Layer in one direction and on the next level do the opposite way. Fill the bin 3/4 full and seal bags to the best of your ability.

Phase III (Reconstitution):
(Conditions continued)
24-48 hours do first fluff or mix buds around. This process should take about 15 mins before you reseal. Do this for 3 more days after first.

Phase IV (De-Bucking):
The actual trimming phase. Remove the buds from the stalks and trim buds. At this point I place the buds into turkey bags and into 5 gallon buckets w/lids sealed for 7 days.

Peak window for consumption 30-90 days after harvest.

*After the 7 day de-bucking phase I leave my room around 55% humidity and allow the bud to dry down for 3 more days.

My last testers (Current rooms first clone generation) that went outdoors got mixed up but from what I could see everything was stable. No herms! 4 phenos were frost monsters... just don’t know which ones. From plants that went out late November and yield was ehh, so everything was frozen and ran. Will be trying to make sauce with it in a few days using jar tech.

My 1st pack of OGKB BX1 F2 seeds arrived. #22/50. Second pack arrives in a day or two.

Room is looking good going in today to give a weak nutrient mix (1/10 strength) and start increasing from that point.

Outdoor 23’ Prep:
Popping Double Banana Kush F2s maybe 50 or so and take snips of all phenos. Using this project to test a tech I read on here basically storing snips in a fridge for 3-4 months. 1. Store snips in fridge in plastic bag (I’ll do some vacuum sealed testers too) 2. Store them in a cup of water in fridge. If this works it’ll keep me from having to waste plant count on rooting non keepers.

Mother Plant
White Label Double Banana Kush, had this awesome mutation that made it have chunky nugs and tiny stems. No main cola instead it would separate itself into two or 3 and grow into large golfball nugs.


I hit my large yielding pheno with CS and pollinated the Banana Kush. Mom hermed in 2 places and a Tropicana Banana hermied as well, these are possible contaminations. Any plant that herms this season is being removed.

I’ll be running my indoor lineup outdoor from leftover clones 25-50 gallon pots with recycled soil. I’ll be attempting a Jadam/KNF run for the first time.

Person I’m getting the OG Kush from lmk the batch is a mix of OG Kush and Purple Urkle so that’s gonna be a bit of work on that as well to separate the OG for a mother plant. I’ve grown the OG enough to recognize it in flower though.

Transplanting one clone of each pheno into one gallon pots. The rest are being gifted and such or moved into greenhouse. Second pack of OGKB BX1 F2 came with same 5 pack freebies. The clones coming tamaro are actually all either Purple Urkle or OG Kush so I’ll just flower one clone indoors w/test phenos
