ok so im at the hydro store today htg is just a bit away. and he says i should run my lights at night. now im logical in my thinking that the heat from outside, and im in the south, should help mask the heat from inside. am i wrong?

even without smart meters "off peak" use is cheaper, so it is technically cheaper to run the lights at night. just make sure you are able get at the plants during lights on. i had a power outage for exactly 12 hours and it totally swapped my cycle so my lights are on at night and i find i only have a narrow window where i'm home/awake during lights on in both my veg and flower areas.

There is no off peak in my state since electric company deregulation. Set your light schedule to what is most convenient to your schedule and, or, grow environment, (heat, humidity) my friend. :leaf:

Use nights for sure... It helps with humidity heat and it is cheaper if you get smeatered ..,

Yeah i'm in Australia so night is the only option without a good air-con- and i still actually run an air-conditioner anyway (it's a portable one that wouldn't hack it during the day).

we do have smart meters but we also have flir on choppers, forward looking infrared radar. picks up heat signatures, but if its warmer outside than it is inside its blind. i have a well vented 600 watt hps. it doesnt get abouve 75 all day.
