DE vs Vero29

not my experience... i personally seem to run into limitations at higher ppfd

in my situation i can virtually guarantee a great crop by keeping it in the 800-900 ppfd range, its cake. full development and great yield and quality
I find this to be true as well at least in my soil grow. The difference between running bro science soil mix loaded with everything the rols or organic crowd suggest vs running a tuned, tested, base saturation in balance soil is critical to success in high ppfd
I think with enriched CO2 levels you both would be able to extract much more out of your lighting, and perhaps be able to provide your plants with higher than 900 PPFD and see a radical response.

As for the topic on the thread, the market is certainly waiting (as am I, personally) for an LED design off the shelf that can equal a high end double ended setup in terms of light output with the heat management characteristics of LED. Hopefully it comes to fruition soon.

Your saying "much more" but many led growers get 2gms+ per watt. I have a space a little bigger than 2x4, if i put 3 good yielders in there, that are well vegged, in tested soil, i'll get pretty close to 3 x 10oz plants. CO2 is def not needed for good yields in optimal irradiance and tested soil. dialed in environment.

Hey, I'm definitely not knocking the LED yields... you are talking to an LED guy here...

Carbon is a fundamental requirement of your plants. To say it isn't useful, even in a dialed in environment, is just being silly.

Sure, you can yield without CO2. You WILL yield more, given that your environment is dialed, with supplemented CO2 with high light levels.

Another thing, it's not just yield. Plants grow ridiculously fast in an environment with high lighting, higher than average ambient temperatures, and very high lighting. Like, insanely fast. Like you leave the grow space, come back at the end of the day and everything is visibly taller, larger; kind of fast.

Yes, I know that you are correct about elevated CO2 having a sort of supercharger effect. I feel as if i would find the ROI disappointing. Im content with my yields and successes using ordinary atmosphere with emphasis on monster air change rate, balanced soil, high ppfd.

Does CO2 claim any quality improvements like flavor, potency?

Well, think of it like this. The plant is on overdrive with CO2, and as long as everything is perfectly dialed in, you will be able to extract the maximum potential from your cultivars/genetics.

Take the dialed in environment you currently have with high lighting and add CO2 and get it all dialed in together, and your plants will be as healthy as they possibly could be. I'm sure you can imagine what would result from that.
