DEA in Violation of Federal Scheduling Law

I want to know how the government can justify sneaking around and putting a patent on it? Now that's just sneaky, underhanded and just plain wrong.

Shouldn't we all have the same chance to experiment and apply for the patent? Arresting us for using it while they are experimenting with it is bullshit.

This has been tried before. In fact, a federal judge recommended, to the DEA, that marijuana be rescheduled.

Erowid Cannabis Vault : Francis L. Young Ruling - Index

That's the full report of the judge's findings. This was back in 1988. As much as I would like to see this happen, the more I research people's previous attempts, the more discouraged I become.

BTW rescheduling really wouldn't do much, and it is not what we should be aiming for. While I know that the medical approach to the legalization of marijuana is seemingly the easiest road, rescheduling marijuana to Schedule 2, for instance, would put it in the same category as Cocaine, Opium, and Amphetamines. We need complete legalization.

We need the government to realize that marijuana is a harmless intoxicant that can be used responsibly by consenting adults. It is a much safer alternative to tobacco and alcohol, which have been legal for years. And we need to make it clear that is absolutely ridiculous that billions of our tax dollars go to fighting a useless war against this amazing plant, which only incarcerates hundreds of thousands of otherwise law-abiding citizens, costing even more tax dollars, when it should be used as a revenue stream instead.

Actually your wrong, the reason the DEA Judge couldn't do anything is b/c and i quote here "
Because no state accepted marijuana's medical use in 1988"

"Six years after top DEA officials rejected Young's recommendation, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. circuit ruled that the agency did have the right to ignore its own administrative law judge."
(Hence the word recommendation)

As for the other part i totally agree with you in taxing it, and as long as adults are aloud to use it. i think that would be the easiest thing to do or we will see a high substance abuse on marijuana more than anything else in the medicine cabinate:bigjoint::bigjoint:.

So when
does everyone think we will here anything on this?

I don't see it happening really. Look at how the alphabet boys keep popping dispensaries out in Cali. Re-scheduling would take Mexico/ South America off it's welfare ride and destabilize the real NAFTA, thus making the America's more volatile. I'm all for legalization, but there's too much money being made and spent on all sides for this to happen. What is it 80% of incarcerated ppl in the US are in prison on Drug charges? How many new prisons go up everyday? Who's making money off these prisons?(Wackenhut) How many counties count on court fees/costs in thier budgets? If there wasn't money in it, new prisons wouldn't be going private owned or be built in the first place. Private probation services wouldn't exist. Mexico would be growing food, columbia would be growing just coffee, but the cash crop will always appeal to the "3rd world countries" and we'll always buy as much as they can get in our country. It's bigger than all us smokers, always has been since Dupont pushed for hemp to be outlawed in the first place, becuase it's cheap and detrimental to thier incomes. When thier only arguement was "It makes Darkies act like they're as good as white folks" and scare up a prohibition. Last time I checked we don't have colored/ whites only signs up down this way anymore. Obama will not legalize if elected because it's out of the scope of his executive powers. Sorry I prefer an illegal blunt over a legal beer, but thats my preference, and thats how i'm excersising my right to the persuit of happiness.
