i was really kind of surprised by the "i think i have to pee" part of the scene, lol, was also kind of surprised how they handled it. i was expecting the coast guard guy to tell keith no they'd take care of it in the helicopter. probably by putting in a catherer.....(cringes). yeah i noticed how keith was in pure survival mode and all that and hopped right up and uh, took care of it. lol.
That's actually a really positive sign. The kid was in shock for nearly an hour with no control of his limbs, or muscles, couldn't swallow, barley breathing. Him recognizing he needed to pee is signs of him regaining control of bodily functions, specifically voluntary ones.

indeed, i wonder if dehydration was the primary problem he was having as like you said he started to seem like he was getting better after they had him drink that gatorade or whatever it was.(im sure it was some sort of sports drink like that). The same thing happened to a camera man on the kodiak the first season it was on the show. i cant remember when they show the scene, im pretty sure it wasnt in the season or the after the catch so it must of been one of the other specials. the deadliest sea episode maybe?
