dealing with very hot days

high all,

Ive been quite lucky where I live this summer having only 2 or 3 days above 80 outside, but the next 2 days are going to be blazing hot (85+ high humidity 70+ at night)

If I have the light on for only like 8 hours a day the next two days will that have a serious effect on my yield/quality or cause hermaphrodites? I am about 6 weeks into 12/12, my sativa is 10 weeks in.

I was thinikin that will help me keep it cooler to avoid the light being on when it is 80+ and just simulate a "cloudy day"

ps: I dont have any $ at the moment to buy any sort of a/c so plz no posts about "go buy this" or "your a cheap f***" If I had the $ to spend I would but I dont plus once september hits Ill be golden unil June again :)

I would still leave the lamp on. I know it gets hot outside but inside your cab is inside your cab. Fans maybe?

I know how it is to be poor, man. I live in weather that is even hotter than that though. One thing I do is use CFLs, but of course that's not for everyone and I understand that. The other most important thing I do is run it at night after like 8-9ish after the sun has been gone long enough for the night air to cool. This affects the performance of the A/C system in the house and it is easier to stay cool for less money.

Some ideas:
Get a fan with a cage on it in your cab and drape a towel on it of medium thinness. Put the bottom of the towel in a container of ice water and hopefully the towel will wick up the water and the fan will blow air through the wet towel a slightly cooler air. It may increase your humidity beyond a desirable point though.

The other thing is add more holes to your box in the future. Good ventilation is a must, I am learning.

sativas {like you said your growing} love the heat. they can even take triple digit heat so dont trip

Maybe if you had to, on those very hot days supplement with CFL's NO it wont be the direct light from your hid, but it will be light none the less.
