Decarb and EAT!

I have been wanting to cut down on smoking pot (NOT quit getting high, just wanting to give my lungs a break after about 50 years of smoking dope...:<) for a while now.I tried several 'things' without much success.I finally 'stumbled across' a story about decarbing using the Sous Vide method.I liked the 'idea'...purchased one of the 'cookers' and...DAMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!......UNBELIEVABLE how 'F'ed-UP I get eating a gram of this stuff!! NOW I know how Einstein must have felt when he discovered some of that crap he 'discovered'....just wanted to share....:>)

I have 'been down that road' before with little success....I believe I have found my 'sweet spot'....thanks for the suggestion though....:>)
I overdid it before I found my ingestion "sweet spot" and went through a few bouts of simultaneous explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting.
Now it's 2ml tinc with half gram decarbed bud for my Einstein experience.

If you were asking me...I take whatever I plan to decarb and grind into a powder...vacuum seal it and when my sous vide device says 197F,I place it in the pot for 2 hours.Remove, cool and enjoy!...
sorry I wasn't more specific, I haven't tried cooking with cannabis since the 90s. What are you putting in the sous vide thingy, are you making oil or butter with it. I like the idea of being so specific with the temperature, I always felt like I was so imprecise when making cannabutter in the past.

Shit i believe it . I was kinda against edibles for a long time until recently. Prolly cause when my boy makes brownies he doesn't de-carb it. Well I made my first cannabutter a month or two ago and that stuff had me wrecked!! My girl threw up! She was trippin high. It had me spinnin high, uncomfortably high lol, and i smoke everyday all day, super high tolerance. I was shocked!! I probably make cannabutter like once or twice a month now.
My recipe for success:
2 sticks of unsalted butter
14 grams of ground decarbed bud
1 mason jar for cooking

Decarb 14g of bud- most important

1. Take your dried buds and grind it up and spread it out over parchment paper on a cooking pan.
2. Bake in oven @ 240* for 30min
3. Mix into melted butter in mason jar
4. Boil jar in a pot on the stove top around lowest setting @ 160* for 2-3 hours.
( you will need thermometers for checking temp of butter. Do not want cannabutter exceeding 180* The sweet spot is 160*-175 for 2-3 hours.

Shake every 15 min
Strain with a mesh filter.
Enjoy some potent cannabutter!!!!! Shit will get you stupid high within 1-2 hours of eating

As @Jesus McGillicuddy says, she probably threw up because she has IBS etc. Not because she overloaded her endocannabinoid system.

Idk man.. I want to agree with you but that cannabutter got us wreckeddd. Made like 20 cookies and had leftover butter for infusing into other foods. Ended up putting some in mashed potatoes with dinner. Then we had 2 cookies after dinner and like an hour after eating , the high hit soooooo hard. Had me questioning life!!:eyesmoke:

I was being sarcastic. It is potent as hell and best to start with a low dose rather than make the mistake I did and "green out".

Made oil with decarbed pucks after pressing flower. Made peanut butter from that. Had peanut butter cookies that were too strong. One and you were sitting down.

New to the extracts. How do you get accurate measurements on content?

I use a mason jar with loose lid in water on an electric skillet and a thermometer to achieve 240 - 250 until no longer bubbling. About 40 minutes to 1.5 hours.

Here's an example that you can use to extrapolate.
