Decarb into Peanut butter

Hey guys,

I m looking into a recipe that meets the following criteria:

- Fast and with as little mess as possible to make.
- Shelf-stable for at least 2-3 months.
- Being able to consume it as it is, say, with no additional cooking.
- Is as fool-proof as possible.
- Makes the best use of the material per weight.

So, I came up and tried this:
5g of stuff after decarb (120C/248F for around 28 mins) -> Ground to almost a powder -> throw the material into melted peanut butter and mix thoroughly -> 120C in the oven for 20 more mins (This step, I think was clearly a mistake, as I practically decarbed the stuff twice) -> Let it solidify again.

The result was actually above average both in taste/texture despite the plant material and in potency despite the double decarb, but there is certainly room for improvement.

Do you have any tips to add?
Can for example just decarb the stuff into the butter in one go? (Grind -> into melted butter -> 120C/28mins in the oven -> done).

Thanks!

So you could decarb into an oil if you wanted to, but butter really dosent get hot enough to decarb unless you cook it forever. You could do alittle bit of coconut oil decarb and infuse all in one step just keep a thermometer on it.

Then you could put that into whatever. Has a long shelf life and would probably last forever in the freezer.

Another tip, when infusing into oil or butter I recommend not grinding it up, just break it up into small chunks with your fingers. This keeps a lot of plant matter out of final product, makes a big difference for butter.

If you do butter I would decarb in the oven first in sealed foil packet, then infuse in the butter for awhile.

Yes, decarbing in oil/butter does not work the same as decarbing buds alone because the oil or butter insulates the canna oil.

Same reason you can bake infused goodies at over 300°F without issues, the canna oil never reaches the outside temperature in a normal bake.

BTW Ardent (who makes decarbing equipment) recommends to not grind buds prior to decarbing. I don't pre grind and havnt had any issues.
