i been doin soil for the last yr or so and i just started dwc in a 18 gal rubbermaid tub with 10 babes on each . i set up 2 tubs with 10 sites each for about $80 . thats including a pump with 2 air outlets . i veged for a month and they took off way faster that soil . the leaves even feel alot softer and healthyer. it sux haveing to change out water tho. i got 6 18 gal tubs and at water change i have to dip it out with a bucket and fill the same way ... thats dumping 18 or so 5 gal buckets then filling with 18 . thats alot of work so think about an easy way to drain and fill them .. try to not be carrying buckets like my dumb ass. BUT you get 10 nice plants in the same space u could only put 2 5 gal buckets. im in the beg of second week of flower. i hope to put up some pics soon hope this helps.
I drain my Ebb and Flow res with a small water pump and run a hose into my toilet, down goes the old nutes... I used to run the hose into a 5 gallon bucket then carry the bucket outside and dump on my palo verde tree outside but that became annoying. I have used a shop vac , carry DWC buckets to the toilet.. I love DWC but next time I mess with it it's gonna be with a water chiller and RDWC.

you beavr, just covert your ebb and flow to use as DWC. Simple as flipping the cycle switches to keep full instead of keep empty. Using the ebb and grow bucket system has ALLOT of advantages over standard DWC. Mostly the ease of nutrient management and the buffering that having extra nutes in a rez provides.

Is it better then RWDC? I dunno but it certainly is cheaper.
